3rd Destination: Oklahoma City
After a full day of travel, with two stops along the way to go to the bathroom and have lunch, the group finally arrived at the next city that was on Monroe's list, namely Oklahoma City. As it was already quite late, Scott decided that the best thing to do was for the group to rest for the night and resume the search for Monroe the next morning.
That way and after some research by their beta, Liam Dunbar, the pack found another abandoned place to spend the night, which this time was a school. When they arrived at the site, Lydia parked the van right outside the entrance and all the pack members took their belongings out of the trunk of the van and advanced into the school.
After assessing the condition of the space, Scott and his friends decided to land their belongings in the gym field, as it was the least damaged space in that school, thus making it the safest space for the pack to spend the night. After they spread out their sleeping bags throughout the space, they all gathered on the bench to have dinner and talk a little before going to rest.
"Have you ever imagined what our lives would be like without the supernatural side?" asked Lydia, as she took a bite of her tuna sandwich.
- Sometimes... And definitely that would be quite different.- Scott replied smiling looking at his friends.- For example, Stiles would continue to be ignored by the girl he liked since third grade. I would never have the courage to have known Alison better... Malia would continue to live in the forest, like a coyote.
"You would still suck at lacrosse." Stiles said looking at his best friend.
- It was a little unnecessary comment... True but unnecessary, Stiles.- Scott said showing a smile.
"Derek would continue to be wanted by all existing police agencies." Melanie commented smiling and everyone laughed at her comment, including Derek.
- I would never have become your friend.- commented Liam.
- Theo would never have becomed a good person.- Isaac commented this time. - I would never have become friends with Boyd or Erica.
- The truth is that the supernatural life brought us many enemies, but it also brought us many positive things.- commented Melanie smiling as she looked at her friends.- The supernatural life brought us this pack... this group of friends... this family! And that alone was worth all the confrontations, all the enemies, all the complications we've had to this date!
- I couldn't agree more.- Liam said smiling as he looked at Melanie. Then Melanie looked at Alec and motioned for him to say something.
- I lost my family before becoming a supernatural being and I admit that it's not pretty to be chased by a group of men and women armed with the function of killing me, but the truth is that I'm grateful for having this supernatural aspect in my life, because without it, I wouldn't be here with you guys. And if you really are a family, as I've already realized you are, then I'm grateful to have the opportunity to be part of it. - said Alec.
- How did you lose them?- Malia asked.
- My parents and my older sister were killed by a burglar who broke into our house. I don't really know what happened, because I wasn't at home at that time, as I had been in the school library studying with a group of friends, but when I got home I had the police and the fire department at my door. But the policeman who was in charge of the case told me that the house had been robbed and that my family had been victims of that robbery. After that, I went to live with my father's best friend until the day you found me. - Alec said, looking at Scott and Isaac.
