Chapter 28: A bullet for you!

'Wait' says Arlyn and goes behind him

He stopped and I asked 'Where are you going?'

'On a mission. Why do you ask so?' asks Lorenzo

'If you are going on a mission then drop me home first or else I am coming along' I said

'No you ain't' says Lorenzo

'Fine, drop me home then' says Arlyn

'I will be late then. Also also will lose the shipment' says Lorenzo

'I don't know, that's your problem now. Drop me or take me along. Your choice' says Arlyn

'Fine, let's go' says Lorenzo and we sit in the car

'You are going alone in this mission, why?' asks Arlyn

'Nope, you are there to accompany me' says Lorenzo

'I meant where are your men?' asks Arlyn

'I am alone, enough for this mission. I don't need them!' says Lorenzo

'You are saying it like you are a killing machine' says Arlyn

'Nope, that's not me, but you..as people say. I will be glad to see it today what all you can do,
to protect me!' says Lorenzo

'To protect you? Why will I protect you? Do it yourself!' says Arlyn

'You will. That is the reason I am taking you along with me' says Lorenzo and she didn't speak further

In an unknown location-
'Ready?' asks Lorenzo
'Yes' says Arlyn (they are connected through earphones'
'Get inside from the back door. I am getting in from the front!' informs Lorenzo
'Okay!' says Arlyn and gets in from the back door. It was a dark room, very dark. I could barely see things or people..when I heard a footstep, I stopped walking and stood still on place..I tried to look around me widening my eyes and I saw 2 or 3 men coming towards me. They didn't knew that I saw them so I pretended that I didn't actually and started walking towards them, I use my knife on one of the men and cut his neck, I shoot the other 2. 'And my area is clear' I said and waited for him to say the same and to take the shipments. 'Clear. Let's go out' he commanded and we left, while we were putting the shipments in the car, one last box was left and I volunteered to get it. I went inside and got the box, when I saw Lorenzo was fighting a man and other one was about to attack him from behind, but I saw it and ran towards him for him to stop attacking Lorenzo, till I went, he pulled the trigger but I got in front of the bullet on time and it passed by my hand giving me scratch, I felt on the ground but managed to kill that man with my knife. Lorenzo killed the man he was fighting with and came to me, he helped me get up!
'Does it hurt?' asks Lorenzo
'No, the bullet just passed by, giving me a scratch. Nothing else, I am fine!' I said
'Why did you come in front of me like a hero huh? The bullet was for me and it hurt you!' says Lorenzo
'This one just have a scratch but I can also take a bullet for you, no big deal. As you already said me I was here to protect you so here I did protect you' says Arlyn
'Let's go to a doctor first' says Lorenzo
'Lorenzo, it's fine I am saying you, I am okay. Just drop me home and later I can go to a doctor myself' says Arlyn
'Hmm' says Lorenzo
'Was he concerned for me or was it all fake? Why did I even come in front of him..to save him?' I thought and sat in the car. Later he dropped me at the hospital, I insisted him to go to his home as I didn't want him around me, I checked myself with the doctor, he said I got a mini fracture and I my hand needs a week's rest at least. I called my driver and went home!

Capone Mansion-
'Where did you go after the meeting? And where are you coming from?' asks Christian
'From nowhere' says Arlyn
'Then how did you get hurt. Your hand is wounded' say's Christian and continues 'did you go on a mission?' asks Christian
'Yes I did' says Arlyn
'Which one. I don't remember giving you any mission nor said you to go on one' say's Christian
'I went with Lorenzo' says Arlyn
'Why?' asks Christian
'Because he wanted me to come along with him, that's why dad' says Arlyn
'Oh I see. Now you both are bonding' say's Christian
'No we aren't. Actually I myself wanted to go so I went. Any problem?' asks Arlyn
'Nope' say's Christian and continues 'go take some rest. And you won't be going on any mission till your hand starts working properly' say's Christian and she goes to her room

Arlyn's room-
'Strange..today is so strange. Why is everyone acting so weird today, caring about me. First Lorenzo and now dad..what is going on with them? So strange is that dad didn't shout on me for agreeing on becoming an Ace, because I know he was always oppose it, he wanted me to work for his mafia, not create my own or be an Ace ever. But I guess the destiny always had different plans for me. It took me years of efforts and hard work and now I am finally an Ace..but for others it was quite easy, as their families supported them but for me it was hard, I chose this path again when I was left hard broken!'

Arlyn and Lorenzo went on a mission together.
Arlyn took a bullet for Lorenzo..she protected him!
Are Lorenzo and Christian really acting strange? Or is Arlyn overthinking
