Half a second later my phone buzzed, and the notification filled me with dread, hatred, and anger.

But the anger wasn't directed at Delphine. It was at Janet.

Fiona huddled closer to me to read the text over my shoulder. Eloise was still on screen as I read the text.

Delphine

Y/N, I know we're not on good terms at the moment, but I swear this isn't a trick! Janet's going to text you right now and tell you that both you and Fiona are officially out of our friend group because 'you can't be trusted'. In two seconds you're about to get a text from her confirming that.

"Do you think she's lying?" Fiona said after she'd read the text.

"I don't think so," I said as another notification came through.

"What does the text say?" Eloise asked. Fiona read it out loud for her, then I opened the other text that was from Janet.

Janet

we're officially done with u and fiona. both of u went and told delphine exactly what i told u not to tell her and therefore i cannot trust u. good day

Y/N

Fuck off bitch, I was done with you a long time ago.

And it was true. I was getting really exhausted with Janet's death glares and Antonio's brooding looks and all their crap. I read Janet's text and my reply out loud to Eloise, who seemed pretty satisfied with my answer.

"Good for you, Y/N. I told you you should've said something."

Fiona, on the other hand, didn't seem too happy.

"Y/N, what about the others?" she asked. "Brandon? Giovanni and Jeveskia?"

"Fiona, this is for the better! If they aren't satisfied, they can leave the group, and Antonio, Xavier and Janet can be their own trio again."

Fiona seemed a little annoyed, but with a little convincing, she let the matter go. We both left the group chat, since Janet wasn't an admin and couldn't remove us. Brandon texted her and asked what was wrong and she explained to him. Then Delphine sent a text on our trio group chat that me and Fiona had both forgotten existed.

Janet

Guys, I'm really really sorry about everything. I should have realized sooner that Janet is a terrible friend. I really am sorry. I know it'll be hard to forgive me and I know I seem pathetic begging for forgiveness but please take me back

I didn't really know what to answer, so I read it out loud to Eloise, who I'd concluded was a lot better at handling these situations than I was.

"I think you should forgive her," Eloise said. "Hear me out, okay? Delphine's annoying, but she's an amazing friend. She was the first one to be my friend. She's outgoing and funny and nice, and let's be real, no one's perfect. Janet's probably going to kick her out of your group too for being your friend, but she already told you she realized she's a horrible friend. Take her back."

I looked at Fiona and she looked at me and we came into a silent agreement; we were, once more, taking Eloise's advice.

Fiona beat me to it.
