"And Now, The Hunger Games Begin."

When I awoke the next morning, I wasn't sure where I was. I rubbed my feet together under the comfy cover, and then I remembered everything. Walker's promise, the reenactment later on, the interviews in a couple hours, and most of all, what Lucas had told me.

Lucas. For the first time, I thought of Lucas. I thought of my friends. I wondered how Fiona and Delphine were holding up. I assumed Eloise had already found out.

Still thinking about what Lucas told me, I reached up with my hand and touched the spot in the middle of my head. If Lucas hadn't told me, I wouldn't have known it was there; once I'd taken my hand away, it felt like there wasn't anything there.

I lay in bed for a little while thinking about later. (God I sound like Katniss.) Then there was a knock on the door and Andromenda poked her head in.

"Breakfast's ready," she told me. "You change; Kevin's waking up Walker."

I nodded, getting out of bed. I opened the closet and stared into it for a minute. Everything in there was Camp Half-Blood t-shirts and an assortment of jeans, leggings, and shorts. I pulled on a pair of jeggings (leggings that look like jeans) and opened the door. That's when I realized i wasn't sure where I was supposed to go, so I just wandered around until I bumped into someone.

"Sorry, sorry!" I said hurriedly; I could tell by the boy's age that he was another tribute. "I'm just lost."

"So am I," he admitted. "So you're the District 12 girl, right?"

"Huh?" I said blankly before realizing what he meant. "Oh, yeah. Yeah, I am."

"District 5," he said. "Harry Potter fandom. The name's Vincent."

"Y/N," I told him.

"I hope I'm not the one to end you," he said with a chuckle as he left.

To him, it might've been a simple, lighthearted joke, but I actually stood there feeling very offended. It felt like he was implying that I wouldn't survive.

As I stood there feeling angry, I felt a hand on my shoulder.

"There you are!" Walker's soft voice came. "We've been looking all over for you! Come on, breakfast's amazing-"

He stopped when he saw my face. "Are you okay?" he asked.

"I'm fine," I lied, fake smiling. He was in such a good mood, I didn't want to ruin it for him.

"Well, come on then," he said, although I could tell he didn't believe me. "We have half an hour before we have to start getting ready.

I followed Walker down to the dining room. Breakfast was a huge assortment of pancakes, cereal, waffles, eggs, and so much more, all with different topping options. I picked (your favoice breakfast), and it was the best I'd ever had.

"I need to get my mom a lesson with these chefs," I said as I finished up my food.

"Don't we all?" Walker said, laughing.

"Alright, you two, eat any more and your beautiful bodies won't fit into the outfits," Andromeda said, although she was chuckling. (Sorry if you found that offensive btw!)

Andromeda led me to my dressing room. The prep team was already there.

"Get her into the dress first," Andromeda ordered. "We don't want to smear her makeup."

So they helped me into the ball gown Andromeda had prepared.

"It's custom-made," she told me as I took my shirt off, feeling slightly uncomfortable.
