Chapter 27

3rd Person POV

Ruby is seen standing in front of grave overlooking the beautiful horizon with her hood on as rose petals flew off from her red cape. Ruby then pulls her hood down as she looked at the grave with sad smile. 

Ruby: Hey mom. Sorry I haven't come by in a... while. Things back at Beacon have been... well things have been pretty busy. Oh, dad's here too. He's a... you know, dad. He's still teaching at Signal, but he told me he's going to be going out on some missions soon. I think he misses adventuring with you. I miss you too. I... haven't gotten kicked out of Beacon yet! So, that's cool. I think being on a team with Yang helps. I keep her in line. That's a joke. She's actually a really great fighter, you can tell she's learned a lot from dad. Well, Weiss and Blake are also great fighters. Oh! Those are my teammates, together we form Team RWBY. And yes, before you ask it.... does cause a lot of confusion. Anyways I've made a bunch of new friends. There's (Y/N), he's really cool and nice to hang out with. He's dating Blake and the two look so cute together. Then there's Jaune, Nora, Pyrrha and Ren who make up team JNPR! They're all so nice and funny to be around. 

Ruby looked at the sky as she smiled remembering funny moments between all of them before looking back down at her mother's grave. 

Ruby: I've also met some.... very odd teachers. OH! And we've also stopped some bad guys! (Giggles) Like mother, like daughter. I also.... now know why Ozpin let me in early and... what power you and I possess. It's honestly weird knowing you have the power to single handedly destroy countless waves of Grimm with just a stare from your eyes. Thankfully he and (Y/N) have helped me improve a lot these past few days. I also trained sometimes at night with (Y/N) which has made it even easier for me to use their power.  But good lord.... (Y/N) can be very strict if he wanted to. 

Ruby giggled at how strict (Y/N) was when helping her use her silver eyes. She then looked at the grave with a sad look.

Ruby: I wish you were here with us mom. You would've loved to meet all my friends and hear about my little adventures during my time at Beacon. Also, I don't know why but... every time I talk to Ozpin, he reminds me of uncle Qrow for some reason. 

Ruby then heard some barking from behind her. She turned around and saw her father and Zwei waiting for her. She turned to look back at the grave. 

Ruby: Looks like dad's back. I gotta go, he's dropping me off at Beacon for the tournament before he goes on his next mission. Wish me luck!!!

Ruby then put her hood on and began to walk away but stopped and gave one last look at her mother's grave. 

Ruby: It was good to talk. 

Ruby then walked away, as a flock of birds flew out into the horizon. 

A few hours later

The Vital Festival had begun, and from around the world the tournament was being broadcasted to everyone. The entire stadium had been filled to the brim with people and students from the academies. Everyone was currently watching the fight between Team RWBY from Beacon, and Team ABRN from Haven. A few of the people watching the fight were Team JNPR and (Y/N).
