Chapter 54

3rd Person POV

Cinder could be seen slowly opening her eyes as snow fell on her face. She slowly stood up as she looked around, seeing she was still in the last mountain she had seen flying into due to the explosion caused by (Y/N)'s attack.

Cinder: To think he still had all that energy to pull off such a powerful attack. Bastard doesn't know when to quit.

Cinder then looked up ahead and saw the destroyed landscape. (Y/N), Ruby and Salem's battle had caused so much destruction that could be seen for miles. And some of the areas they fought in were still on fire.

Cinder: So much destruction. Oh, how I wished they fought in Vale or Mistral. That would've been a sight to see.

Cinder then used her maiden powers and flew into the air before flying back to where the fight had been taking place.

Cinder: Even so, the outcome of the fight is still quite clear. Salem must've already killed the both of them. A shame I couldn't be there to see it. Hearing the little rose scream in more pain would've been beautiful to hear.

Cinder then arrived to where the battle had taken place to see no fighting. Cinder began to look around to see no one in sight.

Cinder: Where are they?

Cinder then spotted Salem on the ground unconscious shocking her. Cinder quickly flew down towards Salem. Once she landed next to her, she went to check on her. Cinder turned Salem over and was surprised to see two scars on Salem's face, and some burn marks all over her body.

Cinder: To think that boy could cause so much damage despite his injuries. I must say that I'm impressed.

Cinder then looked around and couldn't see any traces of Ruby and (Y/N) anywhere.

Cinder: From the looks of it, Salem managed to kill him and that girl. Good.

Cinder let out an evil smirk.

Cinder: Without those two around, there's nothing getting in my way from attaining the rest of the maiden powers.

Cinder then walked towards Salem's body and picked her up before flying away from the area.

With Blake and everyone else

It had been two hours since everyone had arrived at Argus. They all currently stood outside the city walls as they waited for their friends with worried looks. Ever since Salem's scream was heard they all feared the worst. Pyrrha and Jaune could be seen pacing around with their arms crossed. Ren and Nora were sitting down while constantly looking back at the forest, hoping to see their friends eventually come out of it. Neptune and Sun were just standing in silence as they tried to come up with a plan on what to do, the same could be said for Oscar and Qrow. However, Qrow was constantly drinking from his flask as a regretful look could be seen on his face. Yang and Weiss were seen sitting down next to Yang's motorcycle in silence as they hoped for (Y/N) and Ruby to be ok. As for Blake, she stood away from everyone else as she looked up into the sky, hoping to see (Y/N) flying towards them with Ruby. However, none of the two heroes had appeared. Yang eventually grew tired of waiting and stood up from the floor before getting on her bike, making Weiss stand back while everyone else looked at Yang.

Qrow: Yang, what are you doing?

Yang: What does it look like? I'm going to get my sister and (Y/N) back.

Qrow: Yang. I don't think that's a good-

Sun: I'm in agreement with Yang, it's already been two hours since we heard that loud yell from Salem. For all we know Salem could be defeated and they're making their way here on foot. We can go meet with them and-
