3rd Person POV

It's been five weeks since everyone started their training. Ruby and (Y/N) had vastly improved on performing Ragnarök. Though they still couldn't do the entire spell, they had managed to form their respective pillars, and to make the dragon and eye appear. As for the rest of their friends, they had all managed to beat Qrow's initiation. Sun was surprisingly the first one to do it, despite no longer having an arm, he was very quick to adapt. Everyone seemed to be getting stronger with each passing day. However, not all of them were happy with their progress.

Ruby could be seen washing the dishes while everyone else was busy cleaning up the house. As she was washing the dishes, she started to think about the nightmare she had a few weeks ago.

Ruby: Could that, really be how this all ends? After all our training, are we destined to fail?

Ruby then went to put one of the plates into the cabinet before accidentally dropping it, she gasped as the place broke once it made contact with the floor. Yang came rushing into the kitchen.

Yang: Ruby? Is everything alright?

Ruby: Uh? Yeah! (Laughs nervously) I-I just broke a plate on accident. No big deal.

Yang: You sure?

Ruby: Yeah. Everything is fine.

As Ruby said this she knelt onto the floor and picked up the broken pieces. Yang looked at her unsure before looking over at Weiss.

Yang: Hey Weiss!

Weiss: Yeah?

Yang: Mind washing the remaining dishes, I need to have a talk with Ruby.

Weiss: Oh, uh sure.

Ruby quickly got up from the ground.

Ruby: Yang! I said I'm fine. No need to worry.

Yang ignored her sister and walked over to her. She then grabbed her by her came and dragged her towards the house's balcony. Once the two go there, Yang let Ruby's cape go and looked at her.

Yang: Ruby, what's wrong? You've been acting strange for a while now. You rarely talk to anyone unless it's related to Salem, and you've been exerting yourself even more in training from what (Y/N) has told me.

Ruby: I said I'm fine Yang. Nothing to worry about.

Ruby smiled at her sister and gave her a piece sign which didn't convince her in the slightest. This made Ruby sigh, seeing she couldn't fool her older sister.

Ruby: I....... I had a terrible nightmare a few weeks ago. It was after we got back from training.

Yang's eyes softened before walking over and putting her hand on her shoulder.

Yang: You wanna talk about it?

Ruby: (sighs) In my nightmare, I saw mom.

Yang's eyes widened.

Ruby: I ran to go hug her but...... she disappeared. And then, the entire area around me was covered in flames, and you, dad, uncle Qrow, Weiss, Blake, (Y/N). (Tears begin to fall from her eyes) Everyone was dead, and Salem was there, taunting me as she...... held mom's severed head.

Ruby then broke down crying right in front of her sister.

Ruby: I don't want that nightmare to become a reality!!! I don't want anyone else that I love to die!!! I've already lost mom, and (Y/N)'s already died once!!! I don't want to lose anyone else!!!

As Ruby cried Yang looked at her sister with a sad expression. She brought her sister closer and hugged her as she cried on her shoulder.

Yang: Ruby, it's going to ok. Nobody else is going to die, not even me. You wanna know why?
