Alice belated Friday's Impossibilities is all Maths

Now we see someone painting white roses red

It is a bit like our world this strange act

Making something totally different from the original

Just like touching up in photo shop and that airbrush tool

Just to see that perfect figure of the ideal in our minds

Really if a rose is white, why paint it red just so that Queen can’t say “Off with their Heads”

I remember the maths lesson within the pages

Here is one that is subconsciously playing in our minds

As a conversation rings out between the cards

All black spades the unknown two starts with a retort to five

And we see guess what? Low –and- behold number seven retorts back

Now we see the Maths teacher shines in this chapter eight.

This looks like something from pre-algebra, with that x being whatever

And y being the answer, impossible to see that maybe some people just get

To understand how it all interlinks; language, music and science and stuff

Is all one big problem of silly maths because it just is a way of remembering?

How much there is and what is left after everyone else has had their slice

Unless you’re the greedy type and like to hog the whole lot for yourself

Speak of that person, the Queen

Now approached; this panicked those spades

So much so they threw themselves down on their faces

Fear didn’t make our Alice bow down like that

Oh no here was a strong willed girl, polite still

Even though she knew they were just cards… and all a dream

Now Alice is the heroine and saves

Our two, five and seven from a be- heading

Hides them away from the solider clubs

Who really lie on the spades behalf and say their heads be gone

Quite a good look here at how things worked

In this strange wonderland of Alice and cards

Lewis now has really steeped over the line

Animal cruelty of every kind

Flamingos as mallets and live hedgehogs as balls

Good thing Alice saw it all as a joke

And just busted out laughing when she saw

The look of sheer horror more than just puzzlement for sure

Our grinning cat comes on the scene

Now Alice doesn’t feel so alone

As a child in this strange card grown-up world

And that cat full of concern asked on cue

“How are you going on?” when his mouth appeared

But our Alice had to wait of his ears to appear

(Impossible strange cat; disappearing and reappearing like that?)

This has been dedicated to Slonranger because of her little story from her past about this whole story being just a maths lesson.
