I walked back into town, this small kitty in one hand and my phone in the other. I powered it on and unlocked it. I checked my messages.

My mom was spamming my phone asked where I am. My dad telling my that i need to come home. Lisa asked where I am and if I'm okay. Jana telling me to call her when I'm ready.
I walked in the mini market just outside of town. The lady at the desk looked at me worried. I went to the back and grabbed a monster and some beef jerky.
"Hey how much for these two things?" I asked the girl.
"7.36" she said looking at me and the kitty confused.
"Uh, cute cat" she said while scanning the two things
"Her names Mia" i said petting the kitten
"Where did you get her?" The girl asked
"She followed me after my sister died last night" i said handing her a ten dollar bill
"Oh my god I'm so sorry, how did she die if you don't mind me asking." She said handing me the change
"Cancer, in her arm. She was ten" i said putting the money in my wallet
"I'm so sorry!" The girl said covering her month
"Do you need a ride anywhere? A new shirt maybe.." she said looking at my clothes
"Oh, the kitty was cold she needed a blanket" i said looking at where my sleeves used to be.
"It's a little ugly but it's what i Can offer" the girl said bending down and grabbing something under the desk.
She sprung up hold a shirt that said 'you call it autism. I calm it having that dwag in me' with a wolf howling at a moon.
"... why.. do you have this?" I asked
"I thought it was funny" she shrugged
"Can you watch the kitten while I change?" I asked handing her the kitty
She gladly picked up the cat. I went to the bathroom and put on the questionable shirt. I came out of the bathroom and opened the beef jerky. I fed it to the kitten. It sat on the counter eating the jerky while I drank the monster.
"I'm Caroline, my friends call my cara" the girl smiled at me
"Karl jacobs" i said
"It's Nice to meet you karl. You live around here?"
"Yeah i moved here during the summer, the hospitals here are better then the ones in New York so our parents moved us here in hopes to save my sister" i said while petting the kitty
"How old are you?" She asked
"Well i turned 17 as of 12 last night" i said looking at the clock behind her
"Geez you look at least 19" she giggled
"How old are you?" I asked
"19. I'm 20 I'm a month" she smiled
"Have you lived here your whole life?" I asked taking another sip of my monster
"Yep! I moved into a really nice house with my girlfriend last month." She said proudly
"Who's your girlfriend?"
"Her names Nikki, shes actually going to be here with our friend Wil" she said looking back at the clock
"Like Wilbur soot?"
"Yeah you know him?" She asked excitedly
"Yeah we're pretty close." I said smirking to myself
The door swung open as Wilbur made a loud entrance for him and Nikki
"Karlos!" He said happily as he saw me
"Hey Wilbur" i smiled
"Oh who's your little friend?" He asked looking at the cat
"I named her Mia" i said watching him pick it up and kiss it a million times on its head
"I forgot that Wilbur has a soft side" cara giggled
"My sister died last night" i said to Wilbur as he poked the kitty's nose
"Oh my goodness I'm so sorry!" Nikki said with a pitiful voice
"Happy birthday Karl" Wilbur said as if he didn't hear about my sister.
He handed me the kitten and stole a piece of jerky.
"We don't want to keep the others waiting" Wil said to cara and Nikki
"Others?" I asked as the kitten clawed it's way to my shoulder
"The band" Cara said
"Oh! Lovejoy?" I asked excitedly
The cat is sitting on my shoulder, it's claws digging into my shirt the best it could.
"Yeah!" Nikki smiled
"What with the shirt?" Wil asked
"I ruined my other so the kitty could stay warm." I said looking down at the shirt I was wearing
"I gave him this one" Cara said
"Why did you have that?" Nikki giggled
"Because i have that dawg in me" Cara said giggling with Nikki
"Come on the others are waiting" will said. The three walked to the door. Cara and Nikki walked outside while Wilbur turned to look at me
"You coming?" He asking knowing the answer
I grabbed my monster and jerky and went to the car with them
"... it's pink"
"What can i not have a pink car?" Wil said in am hurt voice
"It has the barbie logo on it.."
"Get in the car smart ass" Wil said making me laugh a bit.
I pulled the cat off my shoulder and held it while I got into the back of the car. I let Nikki hold it as we drove to a really nice building.
"What's this place?" I asked Wil as we walked in the building.
"It's where we recorded our killer music." Wil grind at me
We went into a room with three guys chilling on a mini couch. One had long straight black hair with a beanie on. He had glasses and a red bracelet on his left hand. He stood out to me for some reason.
"These are my mates. Ash, mark and joe" Wil said introducing them to me
"I'm Karl" i said nervously
"Who's the cat?" Mark asked
"Oh her names Mia" i said awkwardly
"And she's a little sweetheart" Nikki said in a baby voice
"Right let's get to it then" Wil said
The three stood up from the couch and went to their respective instruments. Me, Nikki, and Cara sat on the couch and put ear buds in so that we could hear what they hear. Nikki held the kittens ears to block out the loud noises.
