P A R T 2 3

After presents we all kind of did our own thing for an hour until jeremiah and belly came into my room plopping themselves on my bed. "We're going to go pick taylor up from the bus station wanna come?" belly asked me

"Wait taylor's coming to town?" i said surprised

"uh yeah i invited her to come for the fourth tomorrow " belly said

"uh yeh sure i'll come" i reply

We all headed downstairs and i slip my crocs on, Jeremiah was driving and i was sat in the passenger seat next to him, while belly was in the back. She had insisted i sit in the front by jeremiah, we were screaming to none other than taylor swift on the way of course.

We were waiting for taylor's bus to arrive when belly said "bet 20 bucks, she calls you jeremy again"

"uh no i think she learned from last time" jeremiah said letting out an awkward laugh

"nope thats how she flirts with you" i said hiding my jealousy

"omg I'm so excited to be back!" taylor screamed while getting off of the bus

Taylor looks over at me "omg lex you look amazing i love your outfit, you look gorgeous" she said hugging me

"she always does" jeremiah added looking at me

"omg! is something finally going on between you two" taylor said jumping up and down

"what do you mean finally" i questioned

"let's be real everyone knows you two have had a thing for each other i mean look at you two you'd be perfect" she said giving me a look

"really?" me and jere said in unison

"anyway here taylor let me get those for you" jeremiah said grabbing taylor's bags. I know he was being nice but why was i getting so jealous.

We got into the car and taylor and belly insisted i sit in the front, we headed home and by the time we got home it was nearly  time for moms birthday dinner. Taylor and belly went to belly's room and unpacked her stuff and then we was all called down for dinner by susannah.

At the dinner table i was sat in between jeremiah and my brother steven, belly had invited cam so she was sat in the middle of taylor and cam. We was talking about old memories that we had made in the summer house when we were younger.

"so cam you mind if i call you cam cameron?" jeremiah said changing the subject

I kicked him under the table "ow lex what was that for" jeremiah yelped

"don't be rude" i wispered

"don't worry lexi, and uh yeah man feel free it's funny" cam said laughing

"i'm glad you're here cameron" susannah said

"i know your mom, denise, from the club" susannah added

"thank you so much for having me, susannah, uh my mom says hi" cam replied politely.

My mom went and offered cam a korean birthday tradition dish, he was so sweet he kept thanking my mom.

Suddenly jeremiah blurts out "why don't you eat meat, cam cameron?"

"uh the meat industry is like, the number one contributor to global warming, and i just like animals." cam said, i could tell he was a little uncomfortable

"just don't come my leather jacket" taylor said laughing

"i'm pretty sure you mean pleather" steven joked as taylor flips him off

"you know uh, actually belly eats meat, so you let her kiss you with those lips?" jeremiah questioned

I kick him again "jere stop asking weird questions" i whispered quietly so cam couldn't hear this time

"guys stop" belly said multiple times

"no, i don't judge people for eating meat, it's just like a personal choice i don't care" cam replied

"so if you don't mind if, uh, like, her lips touch a dead animals lips, and those dead animal lips touch yours right" jeremiah said jokingly

"jere your such a jerk" i said kicking him again

"i don't mind at all, um in fact" cam said before leaning in and kissing belly on the lips

Me and susannah awed while the boys acted immature and started making throwing up noises while sticking their fingers in the mouth.

"all right, all right" my mom said

"belly's allowed to kiss, but that's it" my mom said thinking she was funny while pointing at cam.

"no mom please no your so not funny, no more wine for you" belly said

"sorry i just don't understand why anybody would want to kiss somebody who once fully shat in the bathtub" steven said embarrassing belly

"i was like 2 years old" belly said defensively

"two? more like six" jeremiah and steven said in unison

"shut up steven" belly screamed

"stop being jerks" i said rolling my eyes

"god, i remember that, god that feels like a lifetime ago" susannah said in a voice as if it was a cute thing

"i remember when i visited last summer and you and you (pointing to conrad and jeremiah) dared him (pointing to steven) to pee in the fireplace and you stunk up the entire house for days do you remember that" taylor said embarrassing steven back

"i blamed the neighbours cat" susannah said in disgust

"we were drunk, we were drunk" steven said in defence

"on like a half a white claw" me and belly said in unison while laughing

"she got you there" jeremiah said laughing

"um mom what else are we doing tonight i mean it is your birthday" i said changing the subject

"uh well me and susannah have plans with some moms from the country club" my mom replied

"wait, mom making friends, finally?!" steven said trying to be funny

"don't be a jackass steven" my mom said smacking him on the arm

"so you kids are free to do whatever after dinner, just no drugs and illegal shit" she said laughing

"mom stop trying to be funny"i said laughing

"uh let's go to nicole's party" belly suggests

We all agree and finish up dinner, it was nice spending time with everyone especially because this summer felt different, the boys were working, me and belly were debbing, we all hardly spent anytime together. These are the moments i'll appreciate most.
