I woke up to the sound of my alarm, it was 7am and i made sure to wake up early before anyone else was awake. I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth, washed my face and did my skincare. I was rummaging through my closet and eventually picked out a cargo skirt and a white tank top, i paired that with some white nike socks and my white converse i had gotten for my birthday.

After getting ready i went to jeremiah's room to see if he was awake, i thought he would be sleeping so i just walked in, to my surprise he was stood there shirtless in his boxers.
"don't you know how to knock" jeremiah laughed
"omg, i'm so sorry i thought you were sleeping" i said quickly before closing his door, i was so embarrassed.
I went downstairs and made myself a bowl of cereal, i was scrolling through tiktok when jeremiah came into the kitchen "you're awake early, so was there something you needed?" he said laughing
I could feel my cheeks going red "uh ye i'm sorry for barging in like that anyway, it's my moms birthday and i was gonna wake you up to see if u wanted to go get some of those good muffins for her" i said
"lex don't be sorry i don't mind" he said winking at me
"gross jere" i laughed
"anyway yes i'd love to come for a muffin run with you, but i'm driving" he said excited
"fine whatever" i reply
I grabbed his keys and we headed out to his jeep, i hopped into the passenger seat next to him, i begged him to let me connect and play my music and he finally gave in. I played my favourite songs by taylor swift, jere would pretend he hated it, but in the end he would sing along too.
We was halfway there when my leg starts shaking, it does that sometimes cause of my anxiety, nothing was really wrong it just does it sometimes. Jere noticed and he looked worried, he placed one of his hands on my thigh stoking it with his thumb. I could feel butterflies in my stomach, my heart was pounding and my cheeks were definitely red.
I didn't move his hand though, i liked it, jeremiah's physical touch always made me feel safe. We haven't kissed since the night he came and got me, we basically acted like it never happened, it was odd. We finally arrive at the muffin place, jere parked his car and we decided to go inside to get the muffins.
"what can i get for you guys today" the old lady at the till said
"uh we'll have 2 blueberry muffins, 4 chocolate, 2 red velvet and 2 of your birthday cake ones please" i said politely
"can we get 2 blueberry, 4 chocolate, 2 red velvet and 2 birthday cake muffins for this young couple here please!!!" the old lady screamed into the kitchen
"uh we're not a couple ma'am" i said to her
"i definitely feel that there's something there" she said which made jeremiah chuckle
She handed us our cupcakes and whispered to jeremiah "you need to make a move on the pretty lady" jeremiah's cheeks went red.
The lady wasn't a very good whisperer and i heard what she had said and it made me smile. Was there really something there between me and jeremiah, well i knew there was, i knew he liked me but why didn't he make a move?
We drove back home and by the we arrived everyone had woken up. Everyone was in the kitchen wishing mom a happy birthday. Me and jere walked in and i placed the muffins on the counter.
"uh me and jere woke up early to get some of the good muffins, happy birthday mom" i said as she pulled me into a hug
"awh that's so sweet lex" she said squeezing me
We ate the muffins, while talking about old memories "uh time for presents?" susannah said excitedly clapping her hands together
We all sat on the floor while my mom and susannah was on the couch, everyone gave mom their presents and it was my turn, i ran upstairs and pulled the bag out of my closet where i had been hiding it, while i was walking down the stairs i told my mom to close her eyes. Belly seen the bag and mouthed to me "no fricking way".
I handed my mom the bag, we all watched intensely as she unwrapped it pulling out the pandora box. Her face dropped "omg no you didn't" my mom said
"yep, open it" i said excitedly
She opened the box and her eyes filled with tears, susannah helped her put the bracelet on and my mom pulled me into the tightest hug ever.
"thank you so much lexi, it's wonderful i love it" she said in awe
"your welcome mom happy birthday" i said hugging her back
