The moment he felt the shift in spiritual energy around him... the moment he turned back to get a glimpse of his beautiful soulmate... the moment he realized what their guests are up to...

Lan Wangji lost it.

But it was already too late to do anything.

For a moment, all he could do was watch in horror as their guests vanished into thin air along with his unconscious soulmate within their custody. And he didn't understand where it all went wrong.

The last time he checked, his Ying had been enjoying the looks on their guests' faces and she even reassured him that it would be fine to let her talk with them alone for a while. Though reluctant, he and Xuanyu agreed to that request seeing there was no harm in doing so but now...

The two of them were just about to cross the threshold of the room to step outside when everything flipped sides in a blink of an eye. They lost her again!

He lost his soulmate and their children lost their mother... again!!

They couldn't believe how bad their luck could be! And there were only a little piece of paper that carried a threat and her forehead ribbon left there!!

"A-die... Ma... They- I- How-" Xuanyu stuttered after reading the note at his father's hand.

'Stay away from our daughter for you aren't worthy of her. She is already engaged and will be happily married off to the best suitor within this month. If you wish for her to be happy and safe, be sure to stay out of her way.' That's what it said and Xuanyu knew very well that his father would never accept that outcome. Even he himself wouldn't. They needed their mother.

With Xuanyu's stuttering voice bringing him back to reality, Lan Wangji crumpled the piece of paper, burning it to ashes as his grip on the white forehead ribbon of his beloved tightened greatly. And he felt his control rapidly slipping away, making the temperature drop so rapidly.

Within seconds, the supposedly warm weather of summer decreased to match the bone chilling cold in winter and the bright morning sky dimmed as if a storm was about to descend all of a sudden. The howling wind carried the breath of death and resentment within as Xuanyu too failed to contain his powers at bay. Even though his reaction wasn't as strong as his father's, it still alerted every living being around the area evoking their deepest worries and most painful times as well as the fear of dying.

"What on earth is going on here?!" Lan Qiren, the only person who was brave enough or maybe stupid enough to approach the raging father-son duo exclaimed loudly but it didn't reach their ears as they both had been too far lost in their loss and grief. Even Lan Xichen's calls that naturally followed after his uncle's didn't manage to reach the duo.

"They can't hear you." A distressed voice murmured into Lan Xichen's ear before darting right towards the father-son duo. Not long after, everything came back to normal as Lan Wangji and Hua Xuanyu dropped unconscious into the arms of two black clad men.

"A-die!"

"Da-ge!!" Even before Lan Xichen and Lan Qiren could process anything, three panicked kids dashed towards the two men as other teens stopped beside Lan Xichen without approaching the commotion.
