43) Blessings

"Hua Ying! Don't make me come over. Get your ass over here right now!!" Hua Cheng yelled, poking his head out of the window, feeling annoyed by his mischievous son.

But, alas! Who's he complaining about?

It's not the boy's fault for being the exact replica of him; his father. Remembering this, Hua Cheng sighed in exasperation.

"How did our Ying'er angered you today?" Sneaking his arms around his husband, Xie Lian asked amusedly, not at all surprised about the entire situation. Well... it's not something unusual to see whenever he came home after visiting the heavenly realm but he really didn't know how on earth their baby managed to anger his San Lang every single time whenever he wasn't home.

"He didn't come over for lunch, gege... I called him more than half a dozen times already!" Hua Cheng complained, totally done with parenting. He preferred having the grown up Hua Ying around than this little gremlin. Unfortunately, he couldn't tell that to his beloved who is overjoyed about having the mini Hua Ying around for the time being. After everything they had to go through, they all deserved this small blessing and peaceful vacation anyway. But, it doesn't mean that he could deal with their little gremlin's mischief everyday...! How unfortunate!!

"You must have scolded him then." Xie Lian accused playfully, earning an offended pout from his big baby. Shaking his head at the childish behavior, Xie Lian detached himself from his husband before looking out of the window to catch a glimpse of their son.

"A-ying? A-niang is home... Come here and let's have our lunch together!" Though he wasn't as loud as his husband, he still called a bit too loudly so the boy across the yard could hear him properly.

"A-niang!!" That's all the little Hua Ying said before taking off towards the building to welcome his mother.

"You brat! How many times did I call you before? Do you have a selective hearing so you would only hear your mother's calling?" Hua Cheng frowned, looking at how easily his little gremlin complied with his gege while ignoring him completely.

"Diedie is meanie. You would never feed A-Ying. Only forcing me to eat. Humph. Not wanna." When they heard that complain, Hua Cheng found himself being rendered speechless while Xie Lian burst out in laughter. Still he managed advice his husband through the laughter, "That's what you get for treating a child as an adult, San Lang.

"But gege... He's not a baby!" Though he said that with a straight face, the mother and son duo could imagine the pouting face behind as they shared a mirthful giggle together.

"Not at the moment, San Lang. So, let's just enjoy what we missed decades and centuries ago. Let's enjoy our baobei's childhood the way it is and let our Precious enjoy how well we could have loved him... how much we are capable of loving him whenever and wherever we are..." Xie Lian offered with a nostalgic smile as he hugged Hua Ying's small body more tightly. Soon, Hua Cheng too joined them saying, "I'm sorry. I love you two more than anything."

"I love you too, San Lang... My Ying'er..."

"A-Ying loves diedie and niang too..." Taking hold of his father's braids, Hua Ying confessed lovingly, enjoying the warmth his parents provided for him.

It has been almost a year since the Cang Qiong Mountain sect incident had taken place and the family of three- Hua Cheng, Xie Lian and their baby Hua Ying came to stay at Puqi shrine to take some time away from all the drama and people. Though no one liked them going on a vacation just like that, leaving them all behind, it was not like they had any other option either.

When they declared their decision right after the execution, Xie Lian looked like he would go on another rampage if anyone even thought of opposing their idea. Knowing very well that the infamous Xuè Yǔ Tàn Huā would not even waste a breath before steadfastly accompany his beloved, everyone including the husband and children of the child in question kept themselves from refuting. Since then the three have been enjoying their lives for once like a normal family. Though their peaceful life got interrupted by the sudden calls from heaven or by some random visitors from time to time- just like now, nothing much disturbed their family time.
