"I'm going to collect their ashes this time, San Lang. Don't you dare try to stop me!" Xie Lian's rage burned hot, his fury palpable. "How dare that damned lowlife lay claim to my baby?! How dare he steal them right under our noses? I knew sparing that twisted bastard was a mistake! I should have obliterated him the first chance I got! How dare he!!"
"Your highness... Gege... Please, let me handle this for you..." Despite his own anger, Hua Cheng interjected, sensing the need to prevent his beloved from unleashing havoc upon that pathetic sect. Not that he wouldn't do so himself, but the considerations aren't the same for him and his beloved when it comes to Tiāndao. While he is free to act as wild as he dares without a care of anything, as a god, his beloved was bound by the law. He couldn't act recklessly.
"Who dares to say Xianle cannot go berserk for once?" A voice interrupted, causing Hua Cheng's entire being to tense as he turned to glare at their intruder-the former heavenly emperor.
"Who the hell allowed you in?!" He snapped like someone rubbed him up the wrong way, his annoyance evident at the unexpected presence of Jun Wu.
"Well, I allowed myself in. Is that a problem?"
"Father... and Goushi... What brings you here? And what do you mean by 'I can interfere'?" Xie Lian inquired before the bickering could escalate more as he held his husband back from kicking his adoptive father out of the Paradise Manor.
"Ah, my disciple here-" Jun Wu gestured towards Wei Yang, who had been hiding behind Mei Nianqing for the whole time they came in, before continuing; "He sensed the link between him and my Xiao Xianle breaking. Fortunately, he came to me right away. As for how you can interfere... How do you think I managed all that without receiving punishment from Tiāndao?"
When he finished with a raised eyebrow, Hua Cheng's mouth itched to say something rude but under Mei Nianqing's scrutinizing glare, he didn't dare say anything.
"Two identities." The bored voice of He Xuan interjected, making Hua Cheng's annoyance shot up through the sky.
'When did these pests barge in here? And how did he not notice?' Both his visible eye and E-ming twitched in irritation but for his wife's sake, he held himself back from throwing fists here and there.
"Exactly." Jun Wu clapped happily before expectantly looking at Xie Lian who muttered in a confused tone, "But I'm not a calamity..."
"You are not a calamity, but you are a wife to one. You are not only the heavenly emperor but also a queen of a ghost king." Mei Nianqing pointed out supportively. And apparently, that did the trick as Xie Lian's eyes widened with realization. Then it soon morphed into a wicked grin that looked so out of his character.
"San Lang... Do you mind, please?" He called softly, hopefully looking at his beloved who quickly caught onto what he should do.
"With pleasure..." Hua Cheng smiled, snapping his fingers. Just in a blink of an eye Xie Lian's white robes changed into the red wedding robes he wore at Yu Jun Mountain at the time he went there to investigate the matter of the ghost bridegroom. Just like that time, he took the hand Hua Cheng offered for him, this time giving the man a warm smile under the veil.
