"Will you just stay still for a fucking minute?!" Jiang Cheng scolded his shixiong in frustration, earning a piercing glare from the heavenly emperor and a chiding "A-Cheng!" from Lady Lianhua. However the victim of his scolding didn't seem like he cared about that at all as he whined; "Ow..., come on... Chengcheng! I'm nervous, okay!!"
"Why would my precious Ying'er be nervous, hmm?" Xie Lian asked softly, cupping his whining baby's face between his palms but not before throwing another harsh glare at Jiang Cheng, daring him to say anything rude towards Hua Ying.
"A-niang... Why would I have to go through all this?" Pouting and whining like a three years old, Hua Ying complained, not at all happy about being awakened at an unholy hour so early in the morning to go through this hours and hours of torture.
Why doesn't he remember his eldest boys going through this ordeal at all when they were about to get married? Did he miss something during that time? Also, why didn't they allow him to see his husband for this long?
His parents- more so his mother demanded that they should be separated for the time being. Thus, Hua Ying got separated from Lan Wangji, right after he came back to his senses after going through an intense and painfully long heat caused by the aphrodisiac Yue Shaoqing feeding him during their captivity.
And that was two months ago!
That means, poor Hua Ying hasn't seen his husband for two months already. After going through that kidnapping and the heat, he hated the very idea of being away from his Lan. But unfortunately, his mother is just as stubborn as him.
"Ying'er... Bear it for a little more for me, please?" The pout Xie Lian gave didn't fall too far behind the one Hua Ying is currently giving; no doubt about their shared genetics. The younger huffed, but didn't say anything more for a while. Besides... it's only a few hours more and the separation is going to be over, for forever.
"I miss Lan Zhan..." He finally settled with confessing his most burning problem, electing a hearty giggle from Lady Lianhua and a peck on his nose by his mother. Jiang Cheng wisely kept himself shut.
"You'll see him soon, baobei. Just be patient." Xie Lian murmured, consoling his pouting baby.
Lady Lianhua smiled fondly seeing their interaction, moving to bring some food over for her little brother: "I asked a maid to bring something to lift your mood up, A-Xian. Give it a try. Besides, you'll be hungry later if you don't eat anything now."
Hua Ying's eyes sparkled at her announcement, knowing exactly what his shijie prepared for him. Unfortunately, the moment its scent hit Hua Ying's nose, he recoiled away with a jerk, covering his nose and mouth before running towards the bathing area. The noises of vomiting and coughing followed soon after, making Xie Lian's restraints fly out of the window. He smashed the soup bowl Lady Lianhua brought at her feet, yelling for Lady Wen, Hua Ying's healer, to be fetched.
.
"Tiāndì... Tài Zǐ Diànxià... Forgive me but I really don't know what should I say now..." After examining a pale looking Hua Ying thoroughly, Wen Qing declared with a frown.
"What do you mean by that?!" Xie Lian almost snapped at the lady, starling Hua Ying in the process as he gaped at his mother in worry.
As far as he remembers, his mother wasn't a snappy person. But ever since the stunt Yue Shaoqing pulled by kidnapping him and Lan Wangji, Xie Lian seemed to be on pins and needles all the time. He saw that with his own eyes when his once kind and calm mother began to snap at anyone and everyone who even dared to eye him in a wrong way. Even talking a bit too loudly at him was not tolerated and Hua Ying had no idea why; well... he might have an idea but... he wasn't sure how that sudden kidnapping would result in such a huge behavioral change in his mother.
