24) No limit, no entry

Ruohua assured that the effects of her illusion dust will last for at least a month before anyone would notice a thing. Yet, Hua Ying failed to stop herself from worrying. Not that she doubted her daughter's capability; she didn't. It was rather she knew better about their opponents' nature. 

If they even got a sniff of the things happening around them, there is no guarantee of what they would do. Not to mention her supposed wedding with that arrogant young master and how her mischievous little demons played him to marry a ghost bride from ghost city! And that's just a single part in their master plan!! 

When she was exposed to all the other details of her supposed marriage with Yue Shaoqing, Hua Ying didn't know whether to laugh or cry. 

Even she didn't understand how they manipulated Cang Qiong Mountain Sect elders to demand a blindfold on her so she couldn't see the ordeal or how they managed to swap her bridal sedan with the one that carried the fake bride in broad daylight without anyone noticing a single thing including her. And how exactly did they fool her to bow down to heaven and earth with the love of her life without having her finding out until they were alone in the bridal chambers? Hua Ying didn't know. 

Most importantly; from where exactly did they learn to come up with such ideas in the first place for heaven's sake?!

They even succeeded in fooling her enough to believe that she actually married Yue Shaoqing and if it wasn't for Lan Wangji's interference, she would have become a roaming soul around Netherworld or a lost ghost in ghost city by now. She was this close to ending her life not wanting to be claimed by anyone other than her Lan Zhan. 

When her husband revealed that piece of information to his brother and uncle, Lan Xichen looked like he got struck by lightning and Lan Qiren looked like he was about to collapse from anger as he violently spat blood until Gui Qionglin was called for immediate help. Soon after he recovered, Lan Qiren scolded the teens who joined the rescue mission until they kowtow in apology before making them all kneel in front of the ancestral hall for three days straight and later copy the sect's rules a thousand times for putting Hua Ying's life in danger because of their ignorance towards her feelings.

Even though Hua Ying narrowly succeeded in getting them out of the initial punishment Lan Qiren declared which is them receiving few hundred hits from discipline plank and being secluded in the cold cave for few years, her reasoning didn't manage to get them out of their final penalty and Lan Qiren's wrath since the sect leader himself approved of the punishment without batting an eye. Though it earned the pitiful sect leader a few harsh glares from his angered wife, rather than trying to coax her with other things, he didn't stop the punishment from commencing. Good for him that his wife is extremely weak for his dotting and spoiling. So, by the time the teens were done with their punishment, she had long forgotten her anger towards the man.

"My lady..." Her beloved's soft voice brought her out of her trance as always.

"Lan Zhan... You are here!" She chirped happily, hopping up and into Lan Wangji's ever so welcoming embrace.

"Mn." He replied simply.

"How was your day?" Leading her husband into their home, Hua Ying questioned dutifully, her eyes sparking with love and care.

"Eventful." 

They were still in the middle of their guest lecture sessions, so Hua Ying knew that everyone is busy with work; especially her husband these days. As the sect leader he had more work to do than anyone. Even with Shizui's and Lan Qiren's help, there was so much to do and Lan Xichen was out of the question. 

The former Lan sect leader had to return to Lotus Pier two days after their simple wedding, which means three days ago to help his wife with sect matters. He is the Jiang sect leader after all...
