My further adventures

The first gig

Two months later, the band play the first gig at a local coffeehouse.

Tony put together our band uniforms consisting of black jeans, black leather coats and sunglasses (inspired by the Ramones)

We arrived at the coffeehouse to practice our sound and to get some last-minute pointers from the owner.

After a few hours of practice, we finally played our first song. It was 'Twist and shout' by the The Isley Brothers.

I played the chords of D, G and A. Lilith's voice rang through out the coffeehouse.

I add the chord A7 to the song as I played.

When the song was over, we were greeted with applause and cheers, and the owner came up to them to say how happy he was with our performance.

Our next song was 'Rock and roll music' by Chuck Berry.

This time, I sang the song as I played E7, A7 and D7 as Lilith played a tambourine.

I played so fast during the solo and the people loved it!

Next Tony sang Little Richard's 'Long tall sally' as I played F, B flat and C.

We played their hearts out and had the entire coffeehouse dancing and singing along with us.

Now it was time to do a song that a wrote myself, 'At the crack of dawn'

I played the chords A minor, F, C, G and then A minor, F, C and E.

"At the crack of dawn..."

I played the chords A minor, F, C and G as I sang the first verse.

"The sky begins to explode..."

A minor, F, C and E.

"I see a bright light..."

A minor, F, C and G.

"Fire in the sky..."

A minor, F, C and E.

"We all feel the heatwave tonight...
Building are crashed down....
The stars are falling out of the sky...
What's going on?
Are we going to die tonight?
At the Crack of dawn...

"Why is is happening?
The earth is ruined..
Not coming home tonight...

I stepped on my Wah-wah pedal as I play a solo.

My fingers tapping the strings everywhere at light speed.

I ended my solo by twisting my twaddle bar.

"At the crack of dawn...
The stars are falling out of the sky...
Everything's wiped out!
Nothing left...
Oh god please help us!
At the crack of dawn...
The bomb was dropped...
At the crack of dawn...
At the crack of dawn!"

That was the end of the song.

The people cheered!

The next song was one that Jack sang called "Tonight it ends"

I played the chords F, C, G minor and B flat as Jack pushed the keys of his piano.

"I know tonight it ends."

I played F, C, G minor and B flat.

"You don't care about me."

I played the chords F, C and G minor.

"You only care about money.
Well tonight it ends."

I played A minor and B flat.

"I know it's over. No more lies Tonight
Why do you keep me hanging on?
Just go out that door.

"I know tonight it ends. No more lies, this is where the party ends. I don't want you anymore, just take you package and walk out that door. Cause tonight it ends.

I played my solo and I dozen girls in the audience screamed.

"I know it's over. No more lies Tonight

"You never loved me. You only manipulated me. No more lies, this is where the party ends. I don't want you anymore, just take you package and walk out that door. Cause tonight it ends."

When the night came to an end, we felt like they had achieved something important. They had played their first gig, and the crowd had loved their music.
