Colette sat in the chair down stairs at the dinner table, her form almost physically vibrating from excitement.

Breakfast was made, it had been for a few minutes and she had already knocked on her brother's door several times. The last time, she got a grumbled curse word thrown at her as she heard his feet hit the floor.

She had drunk half of the pot of coffee by herself, that was part of the reason she was so jittery, the other reason, today they were picking Belle from the airport.

After Cole had gotten through her episode last night, she set her mind to decorating her niece's room. She meant to have it down before then, but circumstances had obviously gotten in the way.

Charlie had wanted to go purple, saying quote "every girl likes purple." Cole cringed knowing her niece wouldn't like the color but wouldn't dare tell her father.

Bella and Colette communicated all the time. Through text or email, they kept in touch. In a way, the aunt and niece were much closer than the father and daughter.

Colette remembered that Bella liked muted colors. Grays, greens, browns, tans. She was very tomboyish compared to her aunt who liked to dress up, and expanded her color palette a bit more, but if it made her happy, and made the transition a bit easier, she would put away her rainbow of inspiration.

Since she had first heard that her niece was coming to stay with them, she took on the challenge of making up Bella's room. Charlie still had her twin size bed, and all her free hand childhood drawings pinned to the walls. Collecting all the memories, she had put them in a box, placing it in the top corner of her closet. Donating the bed and some of the older furniture, she got to work on her laptop for matching sets that would work.

Filling in the pin holes, sanding, and taping came next before Cole found the perfect color. Ordering in furniture, and a new present she knew Bella would appreciate, the room was complete in about two weeks.

Cole remembered how Bella loved the fuzzy rug in her room, she got her one. In a light tan, it lay on the hardwood in the teens room. Colette took inspiration from the forest around her, but also from Sue. The older woman had told her to add some feminine touches to the room, add some plants or tapestries or dream catcher esc wall decor. Going with the minimalist theme, she thought it turned out pretty well, she just hoped her niece thought so too.

Charlie came tromping down the stairs, rubbing his eyes as a yawn escaped his mouth. "Come on Charlie! Your eggs are most likely cold." Colette told her brother as she got up, pouring him a cup of coffee.

Looking at her with slitted eyes, he stabbed into his indeed cold eggs, too tired to warm them up. "How in the hell do you have so much energy?" He grumbled, taking the cup that was offered to him.
