Sam's wolf watched from the trees as Colette snuck back into the house. A sense of longing seemed to come from him and the other wolves look at him strangely. "She's a leach, Sam." Paul reminded. "Loosen up dude." Jared growled, "You don't feel it?"

"Feel what?" "There is something about her." "You've already got an imprint Sam, so I don't understand." Paul snipped. "I don't know. I'll ask the elders when we get back." The alpha told the rest of the pack as they turned headed back to their land.

"Cole?" Charlie asked as the floorboards creaked under her weight. "Hi." She whispered as Charlie stood up, pulling her into a hug. "I was so worried." He told her and she hugged him back gently. "You shouldn't be." "You left Lottie. We're the reason you stayed in the first place. Please don't get mad at Esme for telling me, but we were trying to find you."

As they pulled away she then saw how he had large bags under his eyes, she could see the relief that seemed to be exaggerated on his tired form.

"Charlie." She whispered sadly as she brushed her cool fingers under his eyes. "Don't worry about me." He told her but she scoffed. "It's about time I did." "Lottie, you have worried about me for far too long and I know it's not going to lessen until I turn." "Esme sure does talk." Colette smiled tightly and Charlie chuckled.

"We're worried about you. Esme believes something else was going on before you left, and I can't help but agree with her." "I saw him." "Him?" Charlie asked? "Adam." Colette whispered and Charlie froze. "But he was different. It was like a memory of him. He still had his leather jacket, but I couldn't smell him, and when I did see him he was like a shadow. I tried to attack him, and I fell through him. He was never there. I'm going crazy." Colette said as Charlie could see the despair in her eyes.

"You're going through heartbreak Lottie. You're going to see things different, and even if you don't want to, it could draw up old memories. You may not of at the end, but you loved Adam at the beginning. It could be those memories, the ones that weren't tainted yet that you were seeing. A manifestation. After Renee left, I used to think I saw her. It was just glimpses, going around corners and such. Heartbreak can cause crazy things." Charlie told her.

He realized that there was still a hesitation in her eyes. "What? What is it?" He asked and tears blurred her vision. "I saw them together. Carlisle and Adam. Their voices and faces kept getting mixed up. It was terrifying." "Has it ever happened before?" Charlie asked and she nodded. "When?" "Right after you got attacked by Victoria. I had some sort of mental break. Carlisle had replaced Adam and had gotten angry, yelled and slammed his hands down." Colette whispered as tears fell down her face.

A sob burst from her as Charlie pulled her into him. "It hurts so much!" She cried into his chest as her breathing quickened. "I know." Charlie told her as he remembered being left by Renee. "It hurts so much!" She sobbed as her tears soaked into his shirt.

Cole looked up at him and Charlie gasped. "Your eyes." He said in amazement. "I know. They're blue again." Colette told him. "When did they start doing that?" Charlie asked. "A few months ago. I forgot that I haven't been keeping you in the loop as much as I should."

"What else can you do?" Charlie asked and Cole smiled slightly. "I'll explain everything, but first I want some chips." "Chips?" "I'll explain."

"So you're basically a human with superpowers?" Charlie asked. "Odd way to put it, but yeah, I guess. Only superhero's don't have to drink blood to survive." Cole told him and Charlie's cheeks turned pink in embarrassment. "True."

"I'm going to check on Belle." Colette told her brother and he nodded. "She's not very talkative." He warned. "She doesn't need to be." Cole told him as she bounded up the stairs. Before she made it to the teens room, golden eyes were seen.

"How much of that did you hear?" Colette asked Esme. "All of it. I got back just after you. I'm not mad Cole. My brother is an idiot. He knew his actions would hurt you, and still went through with them. You're allowed to feel however you wish." Esme told her and Colette pulled her into a hug. "Oh!" "Thank you." Cole told her and Esme hugged her back.
"You're welcome sweetheart."

"I want you to know, if they come back, I don't know if I can accept them back." Colette told Esme and she sighed lightly as she looked at the younger vampire. "I know. I also know we don't know that much about each other, but I have been in your place Colette. You don't have to take them back immediately. I don't care if it's my brother or not. He's made his choice." Esme told the Swan girl as tears shown in her eyes. "Go be with your niece. We can talk later." Esme said as she smiled gently at her. Colette's lips pulled up at the corners as she pulled Esme in for another hug. "Thank you."

Cole turned, going to her nieces room, knocking on the door as she opened it slowly, the teen curled up in her chair as she looked out her window. Bella's brown eyes flickered over to Cole as she stepped in and they widened slightly. "I thought you left." Bella whispered. "I couldn't leave you." Cole told her niece, thought that was exactly what she was going to do; and for a second she could understand where Edward was coming from. "Where did you go?" "I went to clear my head. Its not important. What is important is that you know I would never leave you or Charlie. You guys are my reason for living." Colette told her, tears collecting in Bella's eyes. "I love you." Bella told her aunt, leaning up and hugging her. "i love you too Belle. To infinity and beyond."
