Portland, Oregon was where the three ended up, and their shopping adventures had began.

The day was filled different stores, food, gifts, and even some games for Emmett, courtesy of Colette.

"Are we done yet?" Emmett complained as the women had their hands full, mainly because he couldn't carry more. "I just want to stop in this one last shop. You guys can go on." "Cole-" "Rose, the whole day has went smoothly, no hiccups or bumps except for yours. It's one shop. I'll survive." Colette told the pair and they eventually gave up and Emmett somehow took her bags.

Walking into the shop, she looking at all the little nicknacks, and things. She eventually found what she was looking for, bookmarks. She had found a few already, along with a few other things, but she wanted to have a selection, knowing that her niece would need them.

"You always were a reader." A voice said in the distance, a voice that ran chills up her spine. She turned looking, on high alert but didn't see anything, until she saw the faintest glimpse of red eyes behind a pair of sun glasses.

Dropping what she had in her hands, she ran, not caring if she used her supernatural speed or not. Standing in front of him with her family behind her was one thing, alone was quite another.

Emmett sat in the drivers seat, his bright eyes taking in Colette's panicked expression the second he saw her. "What happened?" He asked. "Go." She told him. "Cole?" "Drive Emmett!" She cried as tears blurred her vision, and that's what he did.

"What happened?" Rose asked when they were on the road. "He was there. I think he had been following us. I think he has been this entire time." Cole cried, knowing she looked a mess and not caring one bit.

"Did he do anything? Say anything?" Emmett asked, his knuckles turning while on the steering wheel, it was a wonder it didn't break.

"I heard his voice. He said he knew I was always a reader, which doesn't make sense because I didn't read all that much. I cooked, baked." Cole told them and the color drained from Rosalie's face. "What?" Cole asked. "You guys dated for a while right?" She asked. "Yeah." "Would he know that Bella is your niece?" Rosalie asked quietly, but it was met with a violent snarl.

"If he hurts her, I'll kill him like I should have from the very beginning." Cole hissed. "What if he's not after just you anymore? You were considered weak when human, but now, you're stronger than him. He would go for the things you care about, the people you care about." Rose said and Cole's fury began to build.

"Emmett, stop the car." Cole told him and he did as told pulling over as fast as he could, "Cole!" Rose shouted out of the open back door, but a scream of anger was heard a little ways into the wooded area where Cole had ran off into, as a force seemed to come from deep with in Colette was released, killing all the nature around her.

"Holy shit!" Emmett shouted as it had been his first time truly seeing her power other than turning James to ash.

"Should we do something?" Emmett asked his mate, but she shook her head. "She needs to clear her head. She's a danger to all of us. She's too unstable right now." Rosalie told him, her hand on her ever growing stomach.

"What happened?" Alice asked as the trio got back. She saw visions of Emmett and Rose with panicked looks on their faces, and flashes of the one man she's seen before. Adam White. Aka the man they've been trying to track down for months.

"Cole saw Adam." Rose growled. "What? Where? How?" Alice asked. "You're the fortune teller, you tell us." Cole hissed, then immediately felt bad. "I'm sorry Alice." "It's okay. You're upset." "It's not right for me to yell at you when you didn't do anything." Cole argued.

"Is Carlisle home yet?" Colette asked. "Not yet, but he gets off soon." Alice told her. "Good. We need to have a family meeting." Cole told her and Alice nodded. "I'll message everyone. Do you want Bella and Charlie?" Alice asked and Cole shook her head. "Not until we come to a decision."

Alice nodded, sending out the messages. "Oh and Cole." Alice said. "Yeah?" "We are having a party for Bella tomorrow. I hope that's okay." Alice said and Colette smiled. "I think that's a fantastic idea, Ally." Colette smiled.

As soon as Carlisle was home, a meeting was put into place.

"We have a problem." Cole started off. All eyes were on her as she continued, "Adam White was spotted today. He was stalking us." Cole til the group and worried glances were shared. "That's not all." Edward pointed out and she nodded. "He told me something. That I was always a reader. I hardly ever read while in our relationship, so either he was just that bad of a boyfriend, or he is now targeting Bella to get to me." Cole told the group.

Edward snarled, his eyes glaring at her words. "I don't like it anymore than you do, but Rose brought up a good point in the car. As a human I was considered weak. Now I'm stronger than him, so instead he goes for something I care about."

"Are we sure about this?" Carlisle asked. "I'm not for certain, but it's something I think we need to take into consideration." Cole told him. "If he was after her, why hasn't he done anything?" Carlisle asked. "Carlisle, you don't know him like I do. I know how he thinks. He waits, he makes you have the false sense of security, then he strikes. He's waiting. He's just toying with us now and it's working. I won't let anything happen to Bella or my brother." She insisted, and Carlisle reluctantly nodded.

Walking up to him, Cole wrapped her arms around Carlisle. "I'm not saying kill him, not yet. I'll do that when I'm ready. Just- I need them to be okay. Other than you guys, they are my only family, my true family I have left." She told Carlisle, and he nodded, kissing her forehead. "They'll be protected."
