Before Cole left the house, she was fixing one last meal. "Esme told me something about Alice throwing a birthday party." "She is." "Am I invited?" Charlie asked. "I'm surprised that Alice didn't invite you herself. Bella doesn't even know about it, so I'll be excited for that text when she finds out." Cole rolled her eyes.
"Plus, I don't even know what Alice has in store. It may be an all teens party." "They aren't teens Lottie." Charlie told her. " Bella's got friends Charlie, she's not as socially awkward as you. Anyway it may be themed sex, drugs, and rock and roll. You know, every eighteen year olds dream." Cole teased and it was Charlie's turn to roll his eyes.
"What's up with the new book?" Cole asked as she looked her brother in the eye. "What new book?" "Romeo and Juliet. I thought she hated those types of books." Cole said. "I think it's for a school thing." Charlie waved it off, but Cole could almost feel it was more than that.

Getting back to the Cullen house, Colette was correct in her assumption that Bella was upset there was going to be a party in her honor. What She was surprised in was Bella's words, telling her how Jasper had used his powers on her, making her agree with the party.
Cole laughed at that, she knew the southerner would do anything to keep his wife happy and if that meant making someone more agreeable to a party, that's what he would do.
"What are you smiling about?" Carlisle asked as he kissed her cheek. "Bella got to see what Jasper's gift feels like." "What?" "She didn't want the party." Cole smiled and Carlisle chuckled. "Aww. Makes more sense. I do have a gift for Bella, though I figured we could present it as more of a united front." He said and this peaked her interest. With a raise of her brows, Carlisle pulled out an envelope. "Tickets to see Rene?" She asked as she saw the destination was for Florida, and Carlisle nodded.
"That's a fantastic gift Carlisle. She's going to love it." Cole smiled, kissing him deeply, that was until he pulled away. "What?" Cole asked and Carlisle held up a piece of paper. "We were given a list to complete." He told her and she grumbled. "Think of it this way, it's for your niece." "Yeah, a party that she didn't even want."

After the majority of the day, hanging pink and white streamer, and putting candles and roses in ever available nook and cranny in the house, Cole flopped on the couch, Carlisle laughing at her as he sat beside her. "I didn't think it was possible to feel this tired." Cole sighed as she got comfortable. "Why don't you take a nap?" Carlisle asked her, as he began to play with her hair. "Because the kids will be back in a few hours. I'll just rest here." She said as her eyes slowly dropped, eventually closing as Carlisle smiled.
"I'm headed to get the cake." Esme said, lowering her voice when she saw Cole asleep on the couch. "Is she okay?" "She's okay. I think it's her gift. The more she uses it, the faster she wares out." Carlisle said. "But she hasn't used it today." Esme said. "She uses it constantly." Carlisle corrected.
"I have a theory, though I'm not sure it all lies in truth. I believe Cole and Rose are in someway connected now. Colette's gift residing in her, it connects the two." "Instead of just working for herself, her power is fueling two different people." Esme finished. "No wonder she's tired, have you seen how much the baby has grown over these last few weeks? I had realized she had needed to feed more often but I figured it was in preparation for seeing Bella and Charlie." Esme told her bother leaving Carlisle in thought.
