Colette and Alice walked into the Cullen house, hand in hand. Blond hair came flying at her as she got tackled into a hug by Rosalie. "Oh thank god your okay." She said squeezing Cole. "It's good to see you too Rose."
"It's good to have you back." Jasper told her, bringing her into a brotherly hug, one that she reciprocated. "Thank you." She told him, but Jasper knew the words had a deeper meaning.
"Where's he at?" Cole asked looking between Emmett and Edward. "Upstairs."
Nodding, she made her way up. The closer she got to him, the more her confidence was wearing thin.
Knocking on the door of his office, she waited until she heard his voice. "Come in." Opening the door, she saw what kind of state he was in.
Carlisle sat at his desk, his hair tossled as if he had run his hands through it multiple time. He still wore his baseball jersey, the same as she did. His eyes were dark, indicating he hadn't fed. His eyes fixed on a spot on his desk where not a thing sat, just bare wood.
"Carlisle?" She asked quietly. His head rose, his eyes flicking to her, then away, then back to her. "Colette?" He asked as he stood, walking over to her. "I'm sorry." She said softly, tears coming to her eyes. Carlisle looked at her with concern in his eyes. "There's no reason to be sorry." He told her bringing her into a hug.
Cole clung to him as she cried. "I didn't mean to." She told him through her cries. Carlisle held her a little tighter as his heart was breaking all over again. "It's okay. You didn't do anything wrong." He told her, rubbing her back in soothing motions. "You we're protecting your family. No one can fault you for that." He told her as she began to calm down.
"If anyone should be apologizing, it should be me. I tried to de-escalate the situation but did the opposite. I never meant to put you through that. I would completely understand if you wanted space for a little while." Carlisle said, but she just pulled him closer.
"I love you. I'm glad your back and safe." He told her as he kissed her forehead, rocking them back and fourth. "I love you too." She told him.
"I do have to tell you something though." She said. He hummed letting her know he was listening. "Charlie knows." "What?" He asked stepping back, letting go of her to make sure he heard right.
"Charlie knows I'm alive." "How?" "Victoria was going to kill him! She was right there. I could see it in her eyes. I've seen that look before." She said and Carlisle calmed down, seeing that her eyes were glazed over, her blue and amber eyes shinning brightly.

"Cole, was he sure it was you?" "He called me out by name." Carlisle huffed turning around and looking out the windows. "Carlisle, I'm sorry! What was I supposed to do?" Cole asked, pleading with him to see her side of things. "This complicates everything." He said to himself, but of course she heard. "If I could have saved him without him knowing it was me, I would have." She said, but didn't get a response. "What do you want me to say? Just please, say anything." Colette begged him. "What do you want me to say, Colette? Everything is your fault? Our secret may be exposed? You broke the rules, so not only does that again put your brother in risk, but our entire family. All of us, Bella included. You ruined everything!" Carlisle yelled. "I'm sorry." "Stop saying your sorry!" He yelled slamming his fist down on the table, his eyes full of rage.
