Chapter 21: You're Alive!

Varian's P.O.V

I remember seeing Y/N at the market and I had to confirm it was actually her, if she really is alive after all this time, if we can actually be together again and start over, not only as friends but as a couple. If she still has feelings for me, that is. I followed her as she was running away from me but the next thing, I know is that I am slipping in and out of consciousness and being carried over someone's shoulder out the woods not knowing where they took me because I closed my eyes for the last time and slipped out of consciousness.

I wake up shackled to a stone wall. Both of my wrists are connected to these shackles coming out of the wall. Confused I get up and try to walk around to see if I am able to determine where I am, for some reason the room seems a little familiar just that I can't seem to put my finger on it. I keep looking around to see if I can find anything that will confirm my suspicion, the only thing I am able to see is a curtain that covers a window, the curtain looks very familiar, one that Y/N used to-

This is Y/N's old house, isn't it? Now looking around at everything once again I can see the resemblance to Y/N's old house. Just as he made that connection a door opens and closes signaling that someone has entered the room. He can't see who it is from the darkness.

"Hello, who is it?" he hesitates to say.

"Well, well, well, if it isn't my old friend. Hello again Varian, it's been a while since we last saw each other."

The voice says taking Varian into a trance, he recognizes the voice as being Y/N's, that beautiful and melodic voice he yearned so much to hear for the last couple of months.

"Y-Y/N, oh my god is that really you? I knew it that you were alive I just knew it. Oh god I missed you so much, I can't believe it's really you." Varian's voice is full of joy.

"First you don't want to see me you only want to be up Cassandra's ass all the time and completely disregard me and NOW you want to see me, and you miss me the moment I die to all of you, well news flash buddy I am dead. The old me, I am no longer the Y/N you used to know, I am now a monster, everyone's nightmare." She gives him a cold look "Why the hell did you even follow me in the first place? you know you could have gotten yourself killed if I didn't convince them to keep you alive for bait."

"I just wanted to make sure it was really you so you can come back home, and we can make things right, you don't have to keep running and you can become you again, I know how you feel I gone through the same situation-"

"YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT I AM GOING THROUGH, you may have been forgiven by Rapunzel and everyone, but I can't be forgiven by anyone, not the queen herself, not you. Not even my parents could ever forgive their daughter after seeing what she did, after seeing that SHE killed a person with her own hands. I can't go back even if I wanted to, no one would want me back after they know I am not normal, I possess a dangerous power that society will not accept no matter how hard I try.

"You'll see they will accept you no matter how different you are, I promise, and we can start over in our relationship, I promise I will cherish you for all time-"

"STOP. JUST STOP IT, I WILL NEVER COME HOME LIKE IF NOTHING HAPPENED AND WE COULD NEVER START OVER IN A RELATIONSHIP THAT DIED YEARS AGO, YOU NEVER LOVED ME LIKE I LOVED YOU" She starts to tear up.

Before any of them could say anything else Y/N turns around and walks out of the room leaving Varian alone in his own thoughts.
