"Varriiaaannnn when are you going to finish I'm SO boorreeeddddd" I whine slamming my head on his desk.
I have been watching Varian build this machine waiting for the day he'll put a pause on the project and hang out together since Travis is currently out of town and he won't be back till next week.
"Don't worry Y/N I'm almost finished, I just need a few adjustments here and there, after that I'm going to try it out to see if it works.
"Ooooo can you try it on me?" I ask in excitement and flailing my hand in the air like a kid who knows an answer it a question and is eager to answer.
"No Y/N, I don't even know if this machine works properly and it might hurt you or worse" he states
"Oh come on, it seems fun, plus I want a little more adventures in my life.. What is it though?" I cock my head to the side like a confused puppy
"It's a time machine, I want to see how the future or past looks like" He answers not taking his gaze off the machine
"Ooooo I want to see how I look like in the future, maybe a beautiful warrior or maybe a queen, or a mother of three" I rant on gazing to the ceiling and kicking my feet up.
"It's not safe for you to go there just yet"
"Pleaaasssseeeeee I want to try it" I begin to beg
I begged to be able to try out the time machine the rest of the time Varian was finishing it up, at this point I was stressing and annoying the hell out of him. The moment he puts down his materials he turns around and places his hands on either side of my shoulders
"Ok ok I'll let you go, so please for the love of Alchemy stop annoying me."
I nod my head and he let's go and turns around back to the machine. He only has a few screws left to tighten up so I think after that he'll let me go.
"Alright I'm done. Just please promise me you'll be safe" he says
"I promise I'll be safe, what do you take me for a weakling? Please I know how to protect myself, I can fight so you don't need to worry about me at all" I say sounding confident.
Varian gives me a weak smile with a hint of worry lingering on it. He turns to his machine and turns it on by pulling this pretty big lever, Blue lights slowly start glowing on the sides and bottom of the time machine all while making this strange sound I have never heard of before. All this makes me excited but anxious because I will be the very first person to ever travel to the future to see what changes and how we will all look like when we are older. I make sure I have my sword with me and a few extra small weapons just in case I some how lose the sword. Varian gives me a nod of approval and I, without hesitation, step into the open door of the machine. I turn facing the front and the door shuts trapping me in this small space of metal and lights.
"Are you ready Y/N?" He asks, it's sort of hard to hear him speak from in here.
"Ready!" I reply with enthusiasm in my tone.
I stand still for a couple of seconds before hearing the machine make weird noises and then I start to feel weird, like if I'm floating. My stomach feels like it's twisting and turning, the blue lights shine brighter hurting my eyes. I close them shut to block out some of the bright light and brace for any sort of impact. Nothing at first, but then I fall like three feet and hit solid ground, not the metal floor of the machine, but of a dirt road. I quickly open my eyes and look around noticing I'm in an alleyway and it's dark. I stand up and look around trying to figure out where I'm at.
