"Quirin I'll be back, I'm going to the library for a while, I already finished doing all my chores for today." I claim in a pretty loud voice to make sure Quirin hears me.
I grab my satchel and head out the front door on my mission to figure out what my mark means. For the longest time I've been wondering what the mark on my wrist meant, I've had a lot of troubles hiding it because it glows in the dark and I don't know how to make it stop glowing, at this point I had to cover it up with multiple layers of bandages to at least hide most of the glow.
Book after book after book I look through and there isn't a single one about my marking, I grow frustrated and stressed at all the piles of useless books.
"I can't find a single fucking book with at least one page about my marking ONE PAGE is all I need and I can't even get that. Wait, there's another library left in all of Corona and that's at the Castle, they surely should have a book about it there" I whisper to myself.
I get up and grab the stacks of books and return them to the front desk for the librarian to put away. I run out of the library and went straight to the castle without stopping.
"Excuse me, but what's your reason for coming to the castle?" One of the royal guards asks
"Rapunzel wanted me to come here so that she can help me with a few things if that's alright with you guys" I lie trying to sound as kind as possible with a big smile on my face.
The soldier nods and lets me in with a bow, I bow back and walk normally to inside the castle. Once the doors close and I'm out of sight I begin to speed walk through the long hallways towards the library. I try to walk normal, calm, and with a big smile on my face everytime I see a guard or maid walking down the halls doing their usual routine tasks. As soon as I reach the library I sprint to it and close the door as softly as I can.
I didn't realize how big the royal library is until I turn around and see shelves upon shelves all filled with different colored books.
"Oh shit this might take a long time to find the book I need."
I get to work and look for a sign that says what genre of books the section is. After what seemed like hours I pull a heavy book out of a pile of books I accidentally made while trying to reach for it on the top shelves.
"HAH! I finally found it, after maybe hours of searching I have finally found the book!" I shove the book in my satchel.
I begin to put all the other books back where they were so that I don't get in trouble for leaving a mess in the library. Silently and swiftly, I sneak around the halls back through the front doors.
The same guards wave goodbye to me and I copy their actions giving them a big smile too. As soon as they are out of sight I sprint over to the woods, no one will be able to see what I'm up to in there.
"Alright, now what kind of secrets are you hiding from me Rapunzel" I sit on the ground in front of my tree and turn to the first page.
The first chapter was about the Sun powers and the second was about the Moon powers, but the third was about the Eclipse powers and where they come from.
"Eclipse comes from the Sun and Moon powers combining, it's one of the most dangerous powers to wield, and it's stronger than both of them combined. The only people strong enough to have the power are the ones with the combined sun and moon symbol that glows bright green when the host is in danger but even then lots are not strong enough to last a long time. Nothing much is known about what the powers do because no one's body was strong enough to withstand the intensity of them. So I might die if I'm not strong enough. Well.. It's a risk I'm willing to take for my parents."
I flip to the next page and find lyrics to a lullaby on it. I remember everytime Punzel would sing her lullaby it would cause her hair to glow yellow, I wonder if I sing these lyrics it would make me or something of me glow. I read and reread the lyrics from the book trying to memorize what I can.
The breeze around me starts picking up and I notice a faint green glow happening from bellow me. My wrist starts glowing which might mean that now is the time to sing the lyrics. I close the book and place it on the ground beside me along with my satchel.
"Alright, here I go." I Take a deep breath before beginning to sing "Heal what has been hurt, restore what has been lost," the wind picks up even more and the glow gets brighter and brighter the longer I sing "bring back happiness, to this once lost soul" A strange aching feeling starts coursing through my body "See past their sorrowed eyes, and their broken past, re'sure their state of mind, to this once lost soul, this once lost soul" as I finish the aching feeling disappears completely like it was never there to begin with. I feel weaker but stronger at the same time.
Thinking that nothing else would happen I gather all my things together and swing it around my shoulder, I turn around and take one step forward but fall to my knees in agonizing pain. I grunt and scream all while clutching my body and clawing at it to decrease the pain that seems to be getting worse and worse.
"Help, somebody please, it hurts so much Agghh!" I beg to no one in particular for the pain to go away
It feels like there is a fire coursing and burning through my veins. I let out an ear piercing scream for it's all I can do at the moment. This is it, the power seems to be too much for me to handle I don't think I'll survive this it's too painful. No wonder why the book said that only the strongest can manage to survive this.
I lay on the ground still screaming from the immense pain, I notice that everything around me starts growing darker and darker as the seconds go by. This is really it, I'm going to die a really painful death. I was never able to get revenge on the assholes that killed my parents, at least I get to see them now and be with them one more time. I close my eyes and smile as I go out of consciousness accepting that this is my fate. I finally get to see my parents again and be a family like it was years ago.
