After eating lunch and getting ready, Varian leads me to the castle which takes about a 2 hour walk.
"Are we there yeeeett?" I say in an exhausted tone
"almost we are close, I can see the castle entrance" He replies trying to liven up the mood which works.
"Wait really?!" I excitingly exclaim jumping up and down.
Finally we enter through the castle gates and make our way inside the castle. I wouldn't stop spinning around looking at the ceiling, walls, and every decoration in the halls
"W-wow this place is amazing" I breath out
"Yea this place is beautiful" He replies to my statement.
After three minutes of aimlessly walking around and me admiring everything we both hear a high pitched squeel coming from the end of the hall
"OH MY GOD VARIAN YOUR HERE IT'S BEEN A WHILE I MISSED YOU SO MUCH" The princess yells while she runs across the hall towards us with open arms.
She engulfs Varian in a big hug taking the wind out of him
"Yep, it has been a while how you been Rapunzel?" He barely gets out with the remaining breath he has,
She realizes he can't breath and lets go, He gasps filling his lungs with much needed air.
"Sorry about that- Oh who is your friend?" Rapunzel turns towards me and out of instinct I kneel down to her
"Hello your highness, my name is Y/n, Varian's childhood friend" I say in the most formal tone I could reach,
I end up hearing the princess giggle at my remark
"Oh please, you don't need to be formal just Rapunzel is fine" I stand up straight with stars in my eyes
"Really?!" She nods and then gives me a really tight hug.
I look at Varian and give him a thumbs up i which he chuckles and returns the gesture.
Soon enough she lets go and holds both my shoulders with a face of excitement
"You should meet my boyfriend and best friend!" She squeals and pulls me by my arm.
Varian follows with a small smile on his lips. Not long after turning corners and opening and closing doors we run into a tall man with brown hair and a goatee. Rapunzel pulled me in front of her so I could get a better view of him and he could meet me
"Eugene! I'd like you to meet Varian's best friend Y/n"
he looks down at me and smiles
"hello Y/n nice to meet you" upon closer examination I realize it's Flynn Rider,
my eyes widen and I start to freak out
"OH MY GOD YOUR FLYNN RIDER! FROM THE BOOKS I'M YOUR BIGGEST FAN!!" I jump up and down fangirling
"No, I'm his biggest fan!" Varian interrupts.
After Eugene tries to convince me it wasn't him and Varian and I fangirling/fanboying at him we finally start making our way to find another friend of Rapunzel's. On the way there I start to notice Varian is getting a little flustered, I just shrug it off as Flynn coming with us. All four of us turn a corner and I see two huge doors, we walk past them and find ourselves in a banquet room. There I see a couple of women in the same outfits
"Cass! There you are I want you to meet Varian and I's friend Y/n" A woman turns around looking exhausted
"Raps, can't you see I'm really busy setting up for dinner I can't have any distractions right now"
"Oh but Cassie it'll only take a minute and plus we can help you set up" Varian suggests, Cass roles her eyes at Varian and sighs
"First of all how many times have I told you to stop calling me Cassie and second would you guys actually help me if I get time taken away from my work?" She asks and Varian answers for us with a nod.
she rolls her eyes and looks down at me
"Hey kid, the names Cassandra, I am the captain's daughter so I fight" she says with pride
"Y/n, and I fight too back home I learned fencing for 7 years and I gotta say, I'm pretty good at it" I also begin to flex
"Oh kid, I don't think you'll be able to beat me I'm the best of the best"
"Is this a challenge because if it is I gladly accept"
"Bring it on, you will lose"
"OK, now that we know each other why don't we go around and help Cass with her chores?!" Rapunzel interrupts.
Throughout the day while the five of us walk around the halls Varian keeps glancing at Cass and flirting with her. That makes me annoyed and I keep rolling my eyes everytime he uses a pickup line on her. Just as I thou it was going to take all eternity we finish Cass' chores and I grab Varian by the arm and start pulling him away from Cass very irritated
"Come on Varian, we need to go home and eat it's getting late" My excuse worked for a second before Raps runs up to us
"Wait! How about as a thank you, you stay with us for dinner?" I cringe at the thought and Varian pulls away from my grasp
"That would be great! Wouldn't it Y/n" everyone looks at me and I fake a smile and nod even though on the inside I'm mad that Varian is flirting with Cass and giving her all this attention that I wish I had.
I sit across Varian beside Rapunzel and Eugene sits across from her and Cass is beside Varian, The king sits on the edge of the table and the queen beside Rapunzel. I try to eat something but my appetite slowly dies down as I hear Varian flirting with Cass. This goes on for another five minutes until I grow tired of everything
"Hey Cassie, have I ever told you how beautiful you are?" That was the last straw,
I slam my hands on the table and stand up clearly angry "I'm sorry I have to go home now, I lost my appetite. Varian you can stay longer I'll go ahead" I can tell I sound very mad.
"It was nice meeting you all now If you'll excuse me I have to head out before it gets late" I storm out of the room and make my way outside.
"Ugh, why does he have to keep flirting with Cassandra, I mean obviously she doesn't like him back. I wish he gave me that much attention" I mumble to myself.
I look around and decide to make a stop at Snuggly Duckling to see what all the roofies have been up to all these years and to get my mind off of the whole Varian and Cassandra situation. I walk inside and see all the same faces, they were all either drinking, chatting, or throwing each other around. I stand at the door way and look around for an empty table but it seems all of them are full execpt for one that has a boy sitting in it eating by himself. He looks to be my age apart from his white hair that makes him look like an old man. Slowly I make my way to his table
"Heyy, um... is this seat ta-taken?" I nervously ask the guy.
He looks up at me revealing his green eyes, then he instantly smirks
"Why yes it is taken by this beautiful young lady standing in front of me" his remark makes me giggle and I sit down in front of him
"My name is Y/n, what's yours?" I introduce myself and extend my hand for a shake, he grabs my hand but instead of shaking it he kisses my knuckles
"pleasure to meet you Y/n, my name is Travis..."
