Hate me so much

This was it. The day of the Halloween party. I couldn’t see anyone since they were busy in the Uni to prepare the party.

I invited Jesse to get ready together tonight, but she was so enthusiastic, she came before the sunrise.

I was still in my pajamas when she knocked on my door. When I opened the door, she tackled me to the ground. That made my eyes wide opened. There gone the sleepiness.

“You’ll be the queen of party tonight!“

I laughed at her antics even I almost ran out of breath. Gosh! She’s heavy. She maybe realized that and decided to stand and pull me up.

“For that, you should see my costume first, so you can decide how my make up looked.“

I asked her to do my make up since she was the best in it. Her eyes were gleaming to hear it. She clapped her hands while following me to the closet.

I took the hanger that had my costume and showed her. She was stunned and slowly took it from me.

“Don’t say that your costume is….”

She looked at me and I nodded.
She looked back to the dress and inspected it up and down, front and back. Then she grinned wide.

“You’ll be the queen of vampire tonight”

She gave me my dress back. I smiled at her and put the dress back to the closet.

(One day before)

Nicholas pov

I sat on the living room, holding a photograph of my niece.

She was all grown up now. Her face looked more mature than I remembered. I knew she had a hard life and I knew who needed to be thanked for that.

The more I looked at her, I realized that her face was getting looked more like me. We shared similar features like my brother, our eyes and hair colour, the color of skin, and nose shape. She had his mom’s lips and small face.

I missed her so much. I hadn’t see her in years. I remembered that we used to be very close. I spent my time with her more than with my friends, even more than her parents. It’s before my college time.

After that, everything started to be different. I met a girl in the college.

She was a hunter. Her name’s Helena. From her I learnt that not all people were human. Some of them were werewolves, some of them were vampires. There were creatures that hiding among us, and they were not a good ones. Worse, they lived for eternity, and had strength more than human.

I was shocked when she told me that and almost thought that she was crazy. But she showed me the world I’ve never seen. She brought me to the families who suffered from the attacks of vampires. They lost their family members, even lost their body members.

She started to tell me the description of a vampire, so I could helped her to spot one. Together, we found many immortal creatures and banished them with the help of the other hunters.

I learnt so much and started to spend more time with her. Then, I fell in love with her. She was so determined and I was fascinated about it. It turned out, she also fell in love with me.

One day, she came to my house and met my family. After dinner, she told me that my sister in law was a vampire. I didn’t believe her, but she assured me that.

She also asked me to get rid of her. She reminded me for a million times how many people got suffered after the attack of a vampire, and asked me not to let my family became one.

Her words were carved into my head and I started to lose my own mind. Finally, we planned to kill my sister in law.

It wasn’t an easy job since she was immortal. She escaped so many times. Now I could see how powerful they could be. Despite of that, I believe that she won’t live for the eternity. She might die one day.

Once, we were run out of money. The hunters thought about stealing money from rich people. I didn’t agree with the idea, but Helena assured me again, it’s the best thing to help our mission. And I believed her.

I didn’t know that the rich family was included my brother’s. I just followed the hunters and got to my brother’s house. I was so nervous and many times hit the things around when I looked for my brother’s safe box behind one of the pictures.

And then, we were caught in the act by my family. One of the hunters fired his gun and killed my brother and my sister in law.

I wanted to get angry but didn’t had the chance. Our leader praised us because we succeed to kill my sister in law.

Helena again assured me that this was the best. She also praised me that our mission would be triumph because of me. My love for her was getting bigger and bigger.

The worst thing was, my niece saw what happened that night. She became the priority for the hunter. They wanted to kill her next, and they asked me to do it.

Helena said that she could ruined our mission. So she was included in our list to be banished.

And I did that. Well.. Almost. I put a pillow on her face to block her airways when she was in the hospital, but I couldn’t made my self did it. She was still my niece. I failed our team that night. I was very sad to see Helena's upset face that time, and I promised I wouldn't do that again.

Since my brother died, the house was empty. And this made the group thought that it’s best if we moved our base to my house.

The problem was, my niece was still alive and lived in that house. I had to do something to made her left the house.

So I did something that I never did before. I made her hate me, so much so she didn’t want to see me again.

And I succeed. She went out and I never saw her again until this day.

She was with someone that the hunters put the eyes on. The doctor from the hospital that the hunters suspected as one of the Royal vampires.

The thought made me mad. I didn’t let her escape for her to join the vampires side. I would put my eyes on her, and she would lead me to finish our mission.
