Amy pov

After Henry left, I was so worried. He asked me not to worry, but I couldn’t helped it. I exhaled hard and laid my back on my pillow. Tried to ease my mind.

I did it a couple of times, but still couldn't find the peace I wanted. So I sat and opened the drawer on my left. I found a photo under some books. I took it.

It was a photo of my uncle. I took it secretly about 2 years ago in a bar where I worked as a bartender.

I missed him, but not in a good way. He made sure my life was a living hell before kicked me out of my parents’ house.

He did it just because he wanted to take over the house and used it with his friends, his cult friends if I might added.

I got hit multiple times not only by him, but also by his friends. The biggest bully was a woman named Helena. She hit me, she threw me things, locked me in the basement for days without food and drink, and she also tortured me verbally and mentally.

She said my mom was a bitch. She destroyed her family and made her suffered. I didn’t know her but she was sure I was her black sheep. She dumped her anger to me, making sure I felt every second of it.

I knew I wasn’t a simple human since I was a little child. Every time my family brought me to the public places, I felt overwhelmed. The smells of people, the sights of them, their voices and every sounds around me made me dizzy. It became durable along the time, but it’s still not easy.

The peak was when I entered kindergarten, when there’s no people I knew around me, not my father, not my mom nor my uncle. I felt nervous and not comfortable. The teachers tried to help but no one seemed understood about what I'd been through.

The most unforgettable thing was when a child fell down the slide in the school yard. I was a few feet apart from him. His knees were bleeding and he was crying so hard.

I just lost everything that time. All I could see was red, and I felt my head spinning. I didn’t know what happened next.

When I gained my consciousness, I could see my mom was holding me. She gave me my water bottle. My favorite black bottle with a flower picture on its side. And I felt my breathing came slower. I was taken home after that.

At home, my mom handed me my bottle again and asked me to drink the water in the bottle regularly. Since I did what she asked, I never experienced the same thing anymore.

Before my puberty, my mom taught me how to manage my periods. She said that I was special, so I had special ways to treat it. She just allowed me to use tampons, never pads. She asked me to get shower more often and took more sleeps. I did them all and I’d never felt any cramps or any sickness for my whole life.

After she left, everything got different. I couldn’t do my routines in the same ways. First of all, I used the same bottle I used to drink, but it didn't taste the same. Turned out, it’s a special drink my mom made for me. It was made of water with the mix of blood.

I knew it after I found my father’s journal. He wrote about my childhood and how my mom treated me. It was also written about what happened to the kid who got bleeding knees in my first day of kindergarten. I tackled him to the ground and licked his knees. Fortunately my mom was there and took care of everything. No one noticed what I did.

The second was when my period came. I couldn’t find tampons, so I used pads. I could smell the blood from me and I wasn’t comfortable with it. I didn’t have a desire to have blood but the smells overwhelmed me. That’s the first and last time I used pads.

I knew I was different but I didn’t know what I was. I was shocked when Helena said that I was a vampire. I tried to dig some information and got a story about how my vampire mom fell in love to my human father.

My mom said it was like a ‘zing’ feeling. Everything was like a key to a lock that fit perfectly. She left her past to be with my father. I knew nothing about her past. No one knew.

Being a half vampire wasn’t easy for me, because I didn’t know anything about it. There’s no information about half vampires everywhere. Not even in the vampires world.

First time I entered the vampires world was after I left my home. I was jobless, homeless and purposeless. I sat in the park under a hut to avoid rain. A woman also joined me after a while and she was the one to offer me a place. She brought me to her house, fed me and gave me a job at a diner.

Her name was Bianca. I called her Bee. She was a doctor and lived with her partner, Suzy who owned the diner. She was a vampire and she said that I was interesting because could be smelled both human and vampire. When I told her the truth, she was shocked. She never found a half vampire before. She learned that I didn’t need blood to survive, more like it just to maintain a normal sense and lessen the uncomfortable feeling when my senses were too strong and made me dizzy.

I lived with her for a few months and moved out after had enough to rent a small apartment. I visited them sometimes until they moved to another country because Bee’s work required her to go to different hospital. I had her contact and sometimes called her.

Years later, I got a work as a bartender. The bar was popular to a group of people who called themselves as the hunters.

The fact was, they didn’t hunt any animals. They hunt special creatures, the eternal creatures like vampires. They bragged it when they succeed to kill one. That’s when I heard his name. Nicholas the vampire slayer. He was known as the most brute vampire killer and had killed hundreds of them.

I tried to stay low from them and just talked to them when I need to. I quited my job not long after that. I didn't want to have an encounter with him.

Now I heard his name again. And my concern now was he knew about me and my soulmates. He let me go once, I didn’t think he would do that again knowing me with seven vampires who had names in vampires world. He definitely would after me.

I heard knocks on my door. I put the photo in my hand back to the drawer and closed it.

“Come in.” It was Dane.

“Why aren’t you sleeping, Amy?”

I smiled to him, trying not to show my worry to him.

He walked to me with his box of med kit. He opened it and put out some equipment.

“The wounds was still healing. They will be better soon.”

He changed the bandages, put some antiseptic liquid and anything I didn’t understand.

“Actually, I know how to make them heal so much faster.”

“What’s it? I will do anything to make it better” He told me while doing his work.

I decided to tell them everything from now on, started with what I am.

“I need blood.”
