It was Halloween. The sun was shining, its heat rays cutting through the crisp autumm air. Grian was all alone in his cave, the sun not reaching him. He laid on his bed, curled into a ball with his colorful mecaw wings wrapped around him. Tears glistened in his eyes as his attempts to blink them away failed.

Halloween day was the day Taurtis died all those years ago, the day Grians first love was ripped away from him by someone he thought to be his best friend. The hell that followed was too painful of a reminder than what he could bear alone, he wanted to talk to someone, he needed to, but who? Scar was busy with his Scarland so Grian didn't want to disturb him and Mumbo was busy climbing mountains far away so he was out of the picture as well.

This meant there was no other hermit for him to talk to, of course he would consider every hermit his friend, but he couldn't talk with them about this, he of course had Pearl but he didn't need to worry her anymore, she had enough problems with all the things they had already endured together. No hermit was left, well maybe except for one...

With a newfound hope and desperation, Grian spread his wings, a few of his primary feathers fading from scarlett to void black as they did when he was stressed.

It felt nice for the avian to soar through the sky once again, flying over the starter village to reach the prismarine base the admin resided in. He landed in front of the front door, and knocked with fast, desperate knocks. The sight that met the admin was a disheveled hermit, his hair was messy, feathers ruffled and a few of the outer even turning black for some reason the admin didn't know, desperation read all over his face, "Hello Grian, are you alright?"

"Hey X, uhh, I- I don't know. This is going to sound weird, but you're the closest thing I have ever had to a father figure, and I need someone to talk to - Scar and Mumbo is busy - and was wondering if you'd like to talk?"

The admin was taken aback by the sudden revelation, but opened his door for the smaller hermit to enter, "Of course, sit down and I'll make us some tea"

Grian sat with his hands tight around the warm cup of earl gray tea, breathing heavily while mentally preparing to open up to someone. He hadn't told anyone about this before as he hadn't wanted anyone to worry. He had vaguely talked about it with both Scar and Mumbo, but he hadn't gone into details before. He wanted to, but not with his best friends, they didn't need to be burdened by his trauma. He didn't want to burden his admin either, but it was different with him. Even though Grian was immortal and had been alive since the middle ages, the admin felt older and more mature, like a father to him almost even though he had never told him that before.

"so Grian, why did you want to talk?" The man in question asked, and Grian shivered by the thought of Sam, "I- Some years ago, October 31, I went through something terrible, and I just really don't want to be alone"

"I'm sorry to hear that G, do you want to talk about it?" The admin offered and to his surprise, Grian found that he actually would like to talk about it, even though he had never mentioned it to another soul before, but maybe it was just too heavy to carry alone?

Grian took a deep breath before talking, "Years ago, I went to High School with my ex-bestfriend Sam and my boyfriend Taurtis, we had fun together before it all went to hell," the blonde blinked tears away and took a shaky breath, "On Halloween Night, the three of us went to explore the school as a dare because it was said to be haunted, we thought it was funny until we saw the ghost of a teacher that hanged himself and Taurtis' ex-girlfriend who wwas murdered. It was horrible, blood was dripping from the ceiling and signs appeared and disappeared, threatening us.

"When we where about to leave the school there was three rope nooses with stools under them, one for each of us and a sign that read 'like to mock, do we boys?'," The parrot sipped a bit from his tea while X took in the horror-story, Grian continued. "Sam had his problems, and during the halloween night, I-I think he had a psychotic break or something like that, he went insane and yelled at Taurtis and I that 'we didn't deserve each other, and that if he couldn't have Taurtis, no one could"

X leaned closer and put an arm around the crying hermit, "Sam then stabbed Taurtis and left me and him alone to get helped while he laughingly walked away with his girlfriend Yuki, who was almost as bad as him. I helped Taurtis to the hospital and was questioned by the doctors because they thought I did it, I ended up telling them I found him like that and they eventually believed me. "Taurtis stayed in the hospital the whole night until he- he died." Grian choked out, his silent tears having turned to sobs, and the admin rubbed his back to make him calm down, it worked.

"The next day I went back to Sam to tell him, I had nowhere else to go, I told him how the doctors thought I had done it and how h-he died because of what Sam did. Sam told me I should've taken the blame because otherwise I won't be a good friend-" Grian heard an audible gasp from the admin who otherwise had been listening silently, the parrot continued, "Sam then told me he would feel better if I dressed up as my dead boyfriend,"

"At first I refused, but then he threatened me with the same knife that took my boyfriends life and I reluctantly agreed, he was faster and stronger than me, and he would always be by my side, making sure escape was not an options. If I tried to run, ask for help or told anyone I wasn't Taurtis, he would hurt me, and I really don't want to talk about how" Grian explained and silence filled the room, the only thing to be heard was the blondes quiet sniffles.

"I feel like I've heard this story before" X finally said and a humorless laugh escaped Grian, "Have you ever heard of Yandere High School?" He asked and the admin yelped in shock, "THAT was you?" he asked and Grian nodded in confirmation, tears streaming down his face, the voidwalker pulled the smaller hermit into his arms and held him, "Grian, I am so sorry that happened to you, and I want you to know, that you are safe here and that will never happen to you here" He assured, and the avian started sobbing uncontrollably, he truly saw the admin as a father figure, and he had never had a dad so being held by one after telling his trauma was enough to make him cry.

Grian hadn't slept in a while, reliving the trauma each time he closed his eyes, so in the safety of his admins arms, the exhaustion hit him and he soon dosed off. Xisuma took notice of it and slowly placed him down on the couch, putting a warm, fuzzy blanket over him, letting him sleep in peace as he cleaned up the teacups and finished some admin duties. He took a quick glance at the sleeping hermit he felt a strange urge to protect at all costs, thinking to himself "A father figure huh? I could get used to that."
