Grian had finally started building the terrain around the island where he would eventually place his observatory, when a voice called out for him from the air, "Heyy Gree-on!"

It felt as if time stood still, it had been so long since he had heard that pronunciation of his name. A brunette landed beside the parrot, his wings fluffing up in fear. Then he recognized the emerald-green eyes and the crooked smile of the hermit in front of him and he relaxed, sighing in relief. "Scar, it's Grian, not Gree-on" he corrected, hoping Scar would let it rest. "Alright Gree-on" The brunette smirked and Grian closed his eyes, feigning annoyance, but really blinking a tear away. "Don't call me that" he sighed and tried his best to smile, "Anyway, I'm so sorry Scar, but I gotta go gather some more ressources, I'm fresh out of terraforming blocks" He told, a half-lie, while he did need more blocks he wasn't out quite yet, he just needed to get away, because he knew if he heard the name "Gree-on" again, he would panic. It was illogical that a mispronunciation could cause that reaction in him, but Sam was the only one to ever call him that, so hearing it again brought him back to YHS.

Back on the ground stood Scar, a smirk growing as he watched the blonde disappear in the sky, he was amused by the annoyance something as simple as a mispronunciation had caused in his friend, and he had gotten an idea for a prank.

"Hey Gree-on!" Bdubs chimed as he landed beside the parrot who flinched at the name.
"That's not how you pronounce my name, Bdubs" the blonde sighed, hoping it to be a misunderstanding and not a cruel joke Bdubs couldn't know and he couldn't explain the severity of.
"Yes it is, isn't it Gree-on?" He asked, his big smile unmistakably mischievous.
"It's Gri-an, not Gree-on" He sighed, trying his best not to let his voice break while his feathers fluffed to look intimidating towards the threat he couldn't do anything against.
"If you say so Gree-on" Bdubs replied, before taking off and flying away, finally letting the other calm down and his feather regain their usual shape.

A few days had passed and unfortunately for Grian, it seemed like the whole server had caught up with and joined the prank Scar had started, everyone calling him Gree-on, and the parrot couldn't even be mad at them because it was just a mispronunciation, one that wasn't even far off his name, people did it with Xisuma all the time - even Grian himself, and even though the admin had told them the real pronunciation, most ignored it, so why should it be different from Grian? He couldn't blame them for not understanding or realizing the pain they caused him, especially when he did his best to avoid showing it.

The parrot enjoyed being alone for a while, he had just survived a social interaction where he was called Gree-on every few minutes without breaking down, so the break was needed.
"Gree-on! There you are!" Scar greeted and landed beside him, reaching out for a hug. Grian flinched away from him, tears streaming down his cheeks, he had tried to keep it all inside but failed. "Gree-on what's wrong?" Scar asked, stepping closer to the smaller hermit who flinched further back, tripping and falling to the ground. Scar froze, "A-are you afraid of me?" He asked, hurt clear in his tone. Grian wanted to shake his head but he felt frozen. The brunette didn't leave but he didn't dare move closer to the clearly frightened parrot. He knelt down to seem less threatening, still keeping his distance. "Can you breathe?" He asked, and Grian suddenly realized he hadn't been breathing, and started inhaling and exhaling air, following Scars rhythm. "Yeah, thank you, I'm sorry"
"You have nothing to apologize for G, can you tell me if I've done anything for you to react like that?" He asked and the blonde nodded, "The name, don't call me Gree-on, please" he pleaded and Scars eyes widened, "Is that why you panicked?"
He nodded, "I was abused by someone who said my name exactly like that, and now that everyone call me that, I feel like I'm back, I know it's illogical because it's just a mispronunciation, and I'm sorry-"
"Grian, stop apologizing" Scar interrupted, "I'm the one who should be apologizing, I started this whole name-calling prank because I thought it just annoyed you, I didn't know it brought back terrible memories, I'm so sorry I should've listened when you said not to call you that" Scar apologized and Grian hugged him. "I can't blame you, I should've just told you"

Then a message popped into their communicator:

[SamGladiator joined the game]

Grian froze and Scar looked spooked as well. "Sam Gladiator, isn't that the psycho guy from YHS? The one that killed someone and forced his other friend to dress up as the dead dude? " He asked. Grian kept quiet, trying to comprehend the fact that Sam was on Hermitcraft. Tears pooled in his eyes at the memory of Taurtis, his ex-boyfriend. "Grian, are you okay?"
"I miss Taurtis" He muttered, his voice barely a whisper but yet Scar heard him. "Isn't Taurtis the name of the guy Sam killed? You knew him!?"
"Yeah, but that's not important right now, let's go to spawn — the sever will probably need help dealing with Sam" He said, getting up from the ground and taking off, Scar following suit, not fully comprehending what Grian had told him.

Grian landed in front of the rest of the server, facing his greatest fear, Sam Gladiator.
"Ohhhh Taurtis!" The bunny chimed, the blonde's shoulders slumped while the hermits exchanged confused glances, they all recognized the name Taurtis from when they heard about the horrible accident, but why would that name be relevant on Hermitcraft?
"Sam," Grian muttered, his voice almost a whisper, "that's not my name."
The brunette scoffed. "Oh please, your name is not Gree-on, we've been over this!" He took a threatening step towards the blonde who instinctively flinched back.

The hermits eyes' widened as they tied the peices together, coming to the conclusion that their beloved pesky bird was the victim of Yandere High School, gasps escaping a few of them as they realized their mis-pronunciation of "Grian" matched the one of and Sam's, and that their joke might not have been as harmless as they first had thought.

"Come on Taurtis, I've been looking for you ever since I got out of that mental hospital and I've finally found you! Return to me Taurtis, I love you and I know you love me too!" The bunny chuckled, opening his arms for the parrot to hug him.
"No Sam, I'm happy here, I was never happy with you"
Sam's smile fell and his pupils contracted into thin lines, he pulled out a knife. Grian took a step back in panic, simultaneously Scar stepped in front of the smaller hermit, putting an protective arm around him — both to keep him safe and to keep him calm and grounded.

Xisuma had been working on banning the bunny since he joined, but it was harder to ban someone when they weren't whitelisted than anyone whitelisted as he first had to get Sams code down. Finally he pressed ban just as the bunny was starting to march towards Grian.
"Grian, I'm sure I speak on behalf of all the server when I tell you how sorry we are, both for what happened to you and for calling you Gree-on just like Sam did" X apologized, "It's fine X, I know you didn't mean any harm, but please don't call me Gree-on again, and don't ask me about Sam, I don't like talking about it" He explained and the hermits of course agreed.
