Chapter 20: Fight to Kill

There stood Medikus and Frixius facing each other. Igneous sat forward in his seat, focusing on the fight that was about to start. The air was heavy with an unquenchable bloodlust, as the two stared intensely at each other. Lightning burst around Medikus, swirling there, waiting for a command. Frixius smirked and held a single hand out.

"Sleep now, you brat!"

Suddenly a wave of purple water rushed from behind Frixius with a power so intense it blew everyone back but Igneous. Igneous watched intensely, curious to see the boy's limit. As the water retreated into the ground, you could see Medikus fast asleep.

"What the, so his power is... "

"It's called Two Face Rain. Master Frixius can drain his opponent's yes but that's only half of it."

While the rest worried the fight was over Ash smirked. Trista couldn't believe Ash could actually smile at the sight of his brother on the losing end of a fight.

"Why are you smiling Ash? Is this funny to you?!"

"Relax, the kid just knows his brother better than you. They may not have grown up together, but the children of Midaco seem to already have a brotherly bond that nothing else can match. Besides, you'll be able to sense it soon anyway. This fight is far from over!"

Just then, three figures landed in front of the group.

"About time you three, you almost missed the big finale, and here I thought that Miadco was the one that always showed up at the last minute."

"You'll have to excuse me this time Igneous, I had some prior business to attend to in the Northern Sands. These two picked me up less than an hour ago. Just glad I could make it to see one of my nephews in action. Sorry Ash, looks like I missed you already, you sure have grown. You all have!"

Ash gazed in awe at Aux, remembering the time he got to fight alongside his father and Aux. The rest stared at him as well, shocked to be so pleasantly greeted by the most dangerous wrangler alive. Aux, Glacio, and Natura joined Igneous, Frixius and their young students, bringing together the world's greatest wranglers alive. Natura of the wind, who's Nature Winds grow trees that follow the wind's current. Glacio of fire, who wields Frigid Flames. Aux the Perfectionist, the last living embodiment of the idea no power, no problem, and the fiercest swordsman walking the sands. Igneous the Dark, who's mysterious Black Lightning freed the entire Lost Sands. And their master Frixius, a man whose power once rivaled the late Midaco's in his prime. These five are the last remaining legendary relics of the past, and in honor of their fallen leader, Maniac Midaco, they decided to make use of their power once more, and train a new group that would go one to be known as the 5 Great Lights. And with the sparring match between the ace of the new wave, and the master of the former, their real story as an elite group of wranglers had began.

"The kids sleep already huh, not that it matters."

Aux smirked. Suddenly Medikus lifted into the air, and green light began swirling around him as if it were consuming his body. The energy in the air changed drastically as his strength grew limitlessly, and it soon became clear that Medikus was on a completely different level. Medikus slowly floated down to the ground. He tilted his head, and with a small motion with one hand, he created thousands of green lightning swords that surrounded him. With a simple snap, the swords raced towards Frixius at light speed. Frixius engulfed himself in purple rain, and dashed through the swords with ease, landing a punch right on the chin of Medikus. But Medikus didn't budge. Punch after punch bounced off of Medikus as he stood there stoically. Medikus grabbed Frixius by his face, lifting him into the air, and took off, repeatedly slamming Frixius into the ground from the sky and dragging him through the ground. Medikus flew them up above the clouds and threw Frixius into the ground. Ash, Dormia, Trista, and Kruise froze with fear and awe as they watched. Igneous saw Medikus flying down full speed, with his sword drawn.

"This is bad, we got gotta..."

Before he even finished, Aux had stepped in, and with a simple backhand, he knocked Medikus nearly thirty feet away, waking him up instantly.

"Jeez kid, you have got to learn to hold back when you sleep, you almost killed Master Frixius!"

Medikus shook his head and looked up to see Aux, with a bulky looking bag in one hand, while his other lifted the brim of his hat, showing his smiling face.

"Aux! When did you get here?!"

"Just quick enough to see you beat the old man. Good thing too, you're already too fast for Igneous I see."

Igneous frowned.

"I heard that!"

"I know you did, little man!"

"You know I'm bigger than you now!"

Glacio shook his head.

"So big you hide in the Lost Sands while the rest of us fight."

"If you knew what I knew, then you'd hide too, hell even our weakest student is stronger than you!"

"You wanna go Igneous?!"

"SHUT IT YOU TWO!!!"

Everyone turned to see Frixius just barely standing.

"I feel like I'm dealing with you as kids all over again damnit!"

Medikus walked over to Frixius and put his hand on his shoulder. Green lightning flowed around Frixius, healing him.

"So healing is your power, that's good, because now that I'm training you, your going to need it"

Medikus turned to look at Aux.

"Oh yeah?!"

Aux reached in his bag and pulled out the head of Gravis.

"This is the head of the man that stole the Elixir your father should have won. I think of you highly enough of you to consider this warm up just barely sufficient enough to take you on. Now don't you disappoint me kid!"

"Well then, I hope he was strong, for your sake. And by the way, you've got the wrong idea about my power."

Medikus zapped Gravis's head with green lightning, turning it into dust instantly.

"My lightning manipulates time itself. So a little less limited than healing."

"Well this makes things a whole lot more interesting."

The two locked eyes, sizing each other up. Aux saw a fire in Medikus's eyes even larger than Midaco's. He smiled, and somehow he knew that this kid was destined to surpass Midaco and to do something extraordinary in the future.
