Medikus walked into his underground burrow carefully, making sure to keep his guard up. Medikus even had to admit that something was ominous and sinister about this particular wrangler. Medikus found him as a rowdy child, just a few years after his confrontation with the Brothers of the Mist. Even back then, the nine year old's potential peaked Medikus's interest, and that's when he became Medikus very first student. Medikus walked towards the big room at the end of the hall of the burrow. It was pitch black, and suddenly he saw two small, purple flames light up.
"Master Medikus, what brings you here?"
"It's time!"
"You mean..."
"Yes, in 6 months, we will end this war with a swift and crushing blow, and we will start preparing now!"
He crept out of the shadows slowly. He had a crazed look in his eye. He had two swords on his back. His teeth were jagged, and his smile was frightening. He wore no shirt and ripped and beaten jeans.
"So, who do you want me to kill first?!!!"
"You'll be leading my Army, and protecting them. Kill anyone that tries laying a finger on my men. That goes for the rest of the army as well, got it Itero?!"
"Loud and clear master! One more thing, do I have to work with that guy?!"
—
"Yes Commander Ivan, you will be working with Itero!"
"But Master..."
"No debating it! You know that you are the two strongest wranglers after us five, accept that he is your ally, and let your weapons talk when we make our move. But you two will behave yourselves or I'll be forced to intervene!!!"
Commander Ivan flinched. He feared Aux more than anyone else. But he and Itero had a historical rivalry, not necessarily hating each, but they were complete opposites and clashed when joining forces. They didn't want to admit it, but they were genuinely impressed by one another, and intimidated that they had an equal. Every wrangler's dream for the past fifteen years was to just be strong enough to beat anyone outside of the bottomless pit of power that was called the Five Great Lights. Medikus, Ash, Dormia, Trista, and Kruise made sure to leave more imposing marks, be it lakes, creators, glass statues, or creators on the continent than anyone since the 5 Pillars Gods themselves. Almost all their most important enemies had a frightening landmark named in the honor of their death. Ivan and Itero meeting each caused immediate friction, because they were the closest to reaching that goal, but were deadlocked in a battle to see who could surpass the other. While Itero's love for fighting cause him to enjoy their meets ups, Ivan had a much more meek manner, and Itero's very existence made him doubt his strength. And ironically, his power grew when he felt uneasy, allowing him to always match Itero's strength.
"I apologize, Master Ash, but if I'm attacked..."
"Medikus should be handling that now, don't even worry about it. Now, follow me, we are meeting with Dormia and her commander early to start strategizing."
"To be honest Master, can't any of you just slaughter the entire army?!
"That would be a waste. First, we'd exhaust too much entertainment doing such a thing, this isn't the same kind of army my uncle slayed. They are stronger, and the size of that army has been multiplied numerous times over."
"Master Medikus could do it by himself, right? He can do anything!"
"And it still destroys the reason why we fight. By using an army of wranglers, we are representing justice and unity against our oppressors. Medikus destroying the entire Sheriff core only proves he's the most powerful, and people will fear that more than they'll be grateful. The fear of strength would turn him into a God-like figure, when instead he wants to be a hero who led his army to victory. And I can't sit back and let my brother take that kind of risk, because even if he did do it himself, he could end up dying from the damage he'd eventually endure like Aux. This is the best move to make in this predicament."
Ivan hated war, but he knew if this was the Five's decision, there was no negotiating it further.
—
Itero's purple fire turned into clones of himself, seemingly entrapping Medikus in a circle. Trista and her Commander walked up to watch.
"That idiot is fighting Master Medikus again?!"
Commander Frost was a short, light skinned girl with curly black hair. Her eyes were an intoxicating sky blue, that felt like you could get lost in them. Some would say her beauty overshadows her insane strength. The circle of Itero's suddenly charged at Medikus, full speed. It was over in an instant. Medikus stood behind Itero, who'd just had the wind knocked out of him.
"I didn't even see him move!!!"
"You still have a lot to learn, Commander Itero."
Frost ran out to help Itero up. She treated him like a little brother, although he annoyed her, she still hated to see him hurt.
"Come on Itero, get on your feet, you should've never tried to fight Master Medikus anyway you idiot!"
Frost scolded Itero as she helped him up. Trista giggled watching them. For her they were the first two kids she'd ever raised. Her and Medikus took them under their wings, and taught them all they know. Frost's power was a light blue wind that if she made it cold enough, could give her opponents instant frostbite.
"Commander Itero, I want you to lead this army, and I need you to go for a swift, crushing blow, as I've said. You and Frost should go meet with the rest of the Commander's, and in five days you'll present that strategy to me and the rest of the Five. After suffering a defeat like this, I hope you take some notes from it."
"So you need a gut punch so quick they'll never see it coming! Got it, I'm already swimming in ideas to terrorize them all!!!"
Frost shook her head. She knew that any plan of his was guaranteed to work, but that wouldn't take away from how sadistic it would be. Master Medikus must've wanted them to put on an incredible show of power and dominance.
—
"Hey girly!"
Her body was toned and she wore a tight jumpsuit. She was dark with long blonde dreadlocks and bright orange eyes. Her power was flaming sand, and she liked turning her sand into fire breathing spiders, requiring years of mastery over the sand.
"Master Kruise, I see you've returned home."
"We're gearing up for war, are you up to command this army one last time, Aranea?"
"How could I refuse, fight for peace and peace alone right?!"
"That's the spirit!"
Ash, Dormia, Ivan, and another girl walked up. She was tall and thin, and had a very cute face. She carried herself shyly, as if she felt out of place.
"So you brought Ivan and Ionna. Well then, Frost and Itero should be on their way then!"
"Master Kruise, why are we working out of your base?"
"Because it's the only one outside of Igneous's Mansion, meaning it is more secure and less traffic. The only place better would be Itero's burrow, but that place even gives me the creeps."
Itero and Frost walked into Aranea's office in the Kruise Corps Base of operations.
"Ah perfect timing! Well then we'll be off, remember you've got five days to get a plan together. After that it's hardcore training and practice runs. Losing is not an option!"
Kruise, Dormia, and Ash seemingly disappeared out of thin air, leaving the young commanders alone Ionna, the sister of Ivan, and disciple of Dormia. Her grey eyes matched her heavy grey rain. Ivan controlled golden piercing lightning, and used it to shoot lightning arrows through opponents. Together they were the Disciples of the Five, the commanders of the wrangler army. Itero spoke.
"Listen up! I already have a perfect plan to annihilate them all!!!"
