"It just had to be bad news!"
They ran, searching for Medikus.
"Where is that little..."
Green lightning filled the sky suddenly. Slowly at first, it grew downward towards its summoner, twirling into a tornado of lightning. Then it slammed down on top of him. They ran in the same direction, and found Medikus had absorbed all of the lightning. Medikus stood slowly, drenched in the blood from his uncle and former master's head. He pulled his sword slowly out of its sheath and without a single word he disappeared. Acidus jumped to the side and still got hit. Medikus appeared behind him, slicing upwards from a crouching stance. Acidus's ear laid at Medikus's feet, and he zapped it to dust with his green lightning.
"You will pay for what you did to Aux!!!"
Purto and Emortus walked up behind Medikus.
"Brother we successfully murdered Igneous, Glacio, and Frixus as well."
"I did the murdering, I had Emortus burn down everything but the mansion, you should've seen him!"
"It was nothing really, I just snapped my fingers, that's all!"
Emortus sounded genuinely shy and modest as he spoke of his atrocities, which pissed Medikus off even more. The rest stopped in their tracks terrified. Even Ash knew he was outmatched. Natura spoke.
"The Brothers of the Mist, you've gotten even stronger! Am I right?"
Acidus removed his hand from his ear, and acid mist slowly mutated a new ear for him.
"That's right, and quite frankly even with all your efforts so far you'd all bore me in a fight, except for you Medikus. You simply ignore time when you fight, and that's a speed I can't counter."
"So what stops me from murdering you right here and now?!"
"I'm glad you asked, Emortus, would you display a bit of your power for this young man?"
"We'll, alright."
Even Medikus couldn't react. Ash, Medikus, Dormia, Trista, Kruise, and Natura all fell to their knees simultaneously, coughing up blood. Emortus stood over them looking down as if to say, "You're all beneath me.".
"Now I could let him kill you all, but I have a much more fun idea! I'll give you twenty years to prepare, become seasoned wranglers and then we'll have our official rematch. Although I'd say we won today, we lost our entire army to one miserable old man, and I liked that army! So I'll be building a new one and we will leave you all alone and go back into hiding all twenty of those years. Do we have a deal, Medikus?!"
He wanted to say no, but he could let the rest die because he wanted to be stubborn.
"Deal, just leave us alone today, and in twenty years, I'll make sure you all bleed!!!"
"Haha, that's the spirit!!! We'll see you then, oh and Natura, or should I say our Wandering Great Eight, be happy, you would've died today had we found you before negotiating this deal, not that you'll really be useful in your old age!"
The Brothers of the Mist walked away and a thick mist appeared and swallowed them whole, then slowly disappeared, taking them with it. Medikus punched the sand, and lifted bud head to the sky.
"DAMMMMMMITTTTT!!!!!"
He put his head down and cried, morning his masters, and his lack of strength to avenge them. The others cried as well, and as a group, they all knew they had a tough road ahead.
—
They couldn't resist. They walked all the way through the now barren sands of The Lost Sands to see them with their own eyes. As they got to the mansion they saw the bodies immediately, right on the courtyard. Natura broke out into tears immediately and Kruise grabbed turning her around and consoling her. It was a horrendous site. Igneous had a hole kicked through his chest. Frixus, a hole punched through his face. And Glacio was crudely ripped in half. Medikus filled with rage. His eyes light with green lightning.
"They've been gone too long, I can't bring them back, only repair the empty shells their sports left behind. We'll do that and bury them properly. After that, we'll be spitting into groups of twos and splitting up. Ash, go with Domia, train, but gather as many students as you can, we'll build our own army and train them as we get stronger ourselves. Kruise, watch over Natura here. Trista, you're coming with me. We'll rebuild the Lost Sands and use it as a base of operations, and as a safe haven for anyone we can get here safely. Now is not the time for mopping, we have twenty years, so make sure you all use it wisely!"
He stormed out of the door, and Trista quickly followed. Everyone's face hardened with vengeance! The next 20 years would be considered their glory years, capped off on a fight sure to be legendary! This war was theirs now, and they intended to finish it once and for all!
