Medikus kissed Trista on the cheek. It had been 19 years and 6 months since they struck a deal with the Brothers of the Mist. Medikus was known far and wide as the strongest wrangler ever to exist. He and Trista had a newborn baby named Pyro. For some reason, he was born with the abilities of an Elixir, and he could already produce flames from thin air. Medikus had trained thousands of wranglers and boasted a personal army of over 300 seasoned wranglers all trained under him. He'd murdered thousands of Great Eight caliber Sheriffs, and mastered the use of his time manipulating lightning, making him virtually untouchable. They walked into Igneous's Mansion, waiting for the meeting to start. Natura sat at the head of the table, waiting.
"It's been a long time, Natura!"
"Indeed, it has Medikus. I see you and Trista have been getting along nicely. Let me hold him!"
Trista gave Natura the baby. She stuck her tongue out, making little Pyro laugh, causing him to burp a small flame right in Natura's face. Medikus laughed a little, trying to hold it in.
"My my, taking notes from you dad Medikus?"
"Pyro was born like this, I had nothing to do with it."
"I see. You two have aged well, ya know, you look even better now actually."
They had changed a lot though. Medikus had a well groomed goatee with a small patch of grey in it. He wore a hooded black cloak, with the arms torn off, exposing his muscles bound arms. The cloak was outlined with a long green dragon, whose head rested on the shoulder of Medikus. It had been embroidered on the cloak as a gift to Medikus for one of his many kind acts. Trista had a matching cloak, with the arms still intact, with a purple dragon instead. She wore her hood down, while Medikus normally kept his hood up. She had a more mature look now, and she held her head even higher. And they were much stronger than before. They were called by their full titles when confronting any enemy. Trista the Terrible and The One Who Ignores Time. People already worshiped them like god's, and funneled to the Lost Sands, which was now known as the Ring Of Glass, or R.O.G. for short. They built every house by having Dormia form luxurious buildings, then letting Medikus and Ash cook them into glass. They later coated the insides with pure silver, so they reflected outward and kept their owner's privacy intact. The streets were the only thing left that was sand. Markets and restaurants filled the streets, and beautiful glass fountains separated them from each other. In the middle of the city stood a gigantic glass statue of all of the past generation of wranglers. Aux and Midaco in the middle, Frixus, Duke, and Troy to their right, closest to Aux, and Igneous, and young Natura grasping his arm, and last but not least, Glacio. The statue was surrounded by fountains, and its beauty was the star of an already glorious place to live in. Here, Medikus was considered King, although he preferred the term protector more. Trista was their legendary Queen, protecting them motheringly, almost never leaving the R.O.G.
"Well, look who stumbled in late, even though they live here. Hehe, they call you the one who ignores time for a reason!"
"We went to the West Sands. Let's just say I've got some extra motivation now! When did you get back anyway Kruise?!"
"Bout an hour ago. I'm shocked you two beat Ash and Dormia back actually, normally they're the most punctual of all of us."
Kruise wore a silver silk dress shirt with his broad chest exposed. His hair hung down to his back, in dreadlocks with silver tips of water at the ends. He wore baggy black jeans and an old pair of cowboy boots. A portal of black fire appeared in the corner of the room, and Ash, Dormia, and their one year old son Artic climbed out.
"Sorry we're late, Dormia and the baby didn't want to wake up. And to make matters worse..."
Artic sneezed and the velocity of the wind he generated flung him back, but Ash was there to scoop him up.
"Little guy's got a cold."
Trista could sense it.
"He's a wind trigger, from birth I assume."
Dormia spoke.
"Yes he is. Judging by how you asked, I assume you and Medikus know from experience."
She gestured at little Pyro. Natura handed Dormia the baby.
"His name is Pyro, he's a fire trigger."
Little Pyro started to cry softly, and almost on cue, his older cousin Artic began to cry as well. As Dormia settled the baby, they both calmed down. They handed both children to Natura, and sat down. Ash now wore a black leather vest he let swing open, exposing his perfectly sculpted body he'd trained for over the years. He was feared as the executioner of the R.O.G., tracking down and taking the lives of anyone who tried harming one of their own. Dormia was their assassin, cutting down anyone who could potentially be a threat to the R.O.G. She wore hooded pink robes, with black flowers embroidered into them. Kruise was the spy, gathering information, at any means necessary, which is why he was still feared as Slayer Kruise. Every last one of them had grown several times stronger than before, and they gained the experience of seasoned, veteran wranglers. But they all paled in comparison to what Medikus had become. Nowadays, it was as if everything he touched either turned to gold, or died a horrible death to his hands. His personal army of three hundred was the strongest unit in their entire army. Ash, Kruise, Dormia, and Trista had units of over a thousand soldiers, but none could beat Medikus's 300 best students.
"So, let's get down to business!"
Medikus spoke, and everyone sat down out of respect.
"We have 6 months the prepare ourselves and our army for what could be our final battle with the sheriffs. I have already formulated a plan I'd like to share with you, and see what you think."
Everyone sat, waiting for him to finish.
"As you know, the latest wave of Sheriff's, the Fearsome Four, are said to rival Purto and Acidus. So you four will take them head one on one when we attack. The current Great Eight are being slaughtered by three assassins from my upper ranks as we speak, and they won't be replaced while Oasis is gearing up for war. Which leaves our army alone against theirs. With the right strategy, we can ensure our swift victory, which is why I'll be summoned the Commander of each of our personal armies for a meeting soon."
"So you plan to fight them all on your own, huh?"
"I'll be more than enough for them, our priority is to protect our men, I can't have a single one of them nor you die. So don't worry about me, I'll be just fine!"
"You've grown stubborn over the years brother, but I can't argue that that idea would be the safest and most effective. Plus, after our blast little sparring match, I know you can do it more than anyone else."
Kruise shook his head.
"You should've seen what he did to me last month, so I'd say I know a little better than you!You just make sure you come out alive with us so we can have another rematch!"
They all laughed at Kruise, and even he chuckled a little.
"Alright, go get your commanders ready, and meet me at the old training grounds in a week! This war ends in 6 months, and we will win, no matter what!"
Medikus stood.
"And Natura, you wouldn't mind watching the boys, would you?"
"Of course not, I could use the company! It's been harder not to think about them lately, especially my Igneous."
She hugged Pyro and Artic closely, kissing both of their foreheads.
"But these little guys remind me that life moves on, and that losing one thing just means you'll gain something else if you live long enough! I'd be happy to watch them."
Medikus smiled at her, thankful for Natura.
"We won't disappoint you, Master Natura. Alright, let's get this plan in motion guys, no sense of wasting even a second!"
