"Well, well, well, what do we have here?!"
Ash's blood boiled.
"Here to avenge your little girlfriend, brat?!!!"
Ash's mind went blank. Suddenly an aura of black flames sprung from underneath him, raging wildly. His eyes glowed menacingly, and his face went from stunned, to a very serious one. Midas laughed, feeling like he finally could go all out. He forged a large, golden shield that protected him from the front, with a chain attached to it connecting like a shackle on his wrist.
"I'll be taking your life, and your shield now."
Ash's tone was deep and disturbing, and it was like he'd become an entirely different person.
"So you're a little stronger, meaning I only just decided to kill you! I've just been playing with you out of my own boredom! I've been torturing you until you grew strong and hateful enough for me to smile while I crush you!!!"
Ash's aura flared again, almost doubling in size. The flames swallowed him whole, and he completely snapped. Midas swung his giant shield in circles at tremendous speeds, causing a tornado to rise from the sand. The aura and the tornado disappeared simultaneously and when the sand cleared, Ash had Midas in the air by his throat. Midas twitched and twisted, completely unable to breath. Ash stared at him, black flames rolling out of his eyes.
"Torture, was it?!"
Ash ripped Midas's hand off, taking his shield with it. Ash threw the hand aside and fit the cuff connecting it to the chain on his own wrist.
"You even put handholds on the back of the shield for me. Thanks for the parting gift!"
Midas fell to the ground and tried to run. He felt the same fear Midaco himself once gave him. Ash snapped, and Midas found himself falling right above Ash, who was flying at him, preparing a jaw shattering uppercut. Ash's punch sent Midas flying through the air, completely defenseless. Ash teleported behind him, and punched him over and over, juggling him in the air. Midas couldn't even see him anymore, he could only feel the beat down he was taking. Suddenly Ash stopped letting Midas free fall. Midas turned and saw his shield just as it crashed right into him, blasting him back up into the air. Ash pulled the chain, bringing the shield back to himself. He held the shield over his head, and with Midas finally landed, he hit the shield hard, and ash flung him into the sand.
"What was that about killing me, Midas?!"
Midas wobbled as he stood, clearly on the verge of death. Ash walked up to him and grabbed him by his neck. He squeezed, crushing Midas's throat, and with a swift pull, he yanked Midas's head off with his spine attached. He grabbed the far end of the spine, lit the whole thing on fire and swung it at Midas's body, cutting it in half. He dropped the spine and walked away, sitting on a nearby bench, going into deep thought as a tear left his eye.

They ran as fast as they could. Dormia, Kruise, Trista, and Natura felt the heat from Ash's brutal mauling of Midas. As they got there Ash was sitting on a bench, tears streaming down his face. Midas was split in two not too far away, with his spine and a pile of dust that was once his head on one side, all encased in glass. His flame was so hot, it melted the sand around it once he dropped it. He stood and walked past everyone.
"Dormia, do me a favor, if you don't mind?"
"Um sure, if I can I will."
"Form that spine into the shape of an axe. One more weapon won't hurt, right?"
Dormia sensed something sinister in his voice. She opened her mouth to object when Natura put her hand on her shoulder and spoke up first.
"She'd be happy too!"
Natura whispered into Dormia's ear.
"Don't be scared Dormia, this is a mindstate that allows you to use your full power. He's simply become dead set on killing his enemies, something Midaco could do at will. He won't hurt you, he's still himself."
Dormia walked up to Ash and hugged him, and he slowly calmed down. Dormia looked him into his eyes.
"An axe right?!"
Ash wiped his eyes.
"Right!"
Dormia lifted it into the sore with sand forming a large, rugged axe. Ash aimed his hand at it, and a tiny black ball of fire appeared.
"Everyone stand back!"
They stepped back, curious of what such a small speck of fire could do. He launched it, and the flare up nearly smacked them causing them all to jump. Natura's jaw dropped.
"My god your..."
Ash's flames burned out quickly and he used the remaining ones to pull his axe to his hand, and he examined it. He clanked it against the shield, testing its strength, before engulfing them both in black flames and teleporting them away.
"You're just like Midaco now!"
They all stared in awe. Ash's anger that day boosted his strength ten fold, and gave him an entirely new hate for the sheriffs, and a new reason to fight. He took a deep breath, settling himself.
"Please tell me this news I assume you're bringing me is good."
