The intense heat caused both armies to retreat outside of the front gate. Emortus displayed the true depth of his power, incinerating everyone and everything that didn't get out of his way, murdering the majority of his own men. The remainder were quickly cleaned up by the 5 Disciples and the other four Lights. Medikus's green lightning fought to keep his body intact, but it took all he had to weather being in Emortus's presence. But he pressed forward, and green lightning struck the ground all around them. His eyes lit with a burning ambition, and he smirked excitedly. They fought in a pool of now totally molten glass. Medikus rushed forward wildly, throwing a flurry of crushing body blows. Emortus stumbled for a second, then grabbed Medikus's wrist, burning it with all he had, before throwing Medikus aside like a ragdoll. Medikus rolled over, standing up out of the molten glass. You could see his lightning putting back his skin and muscle on his skeleton, finishing on his face. Emortus even was spoked seeing the green lightning blazing in the eye socket of Medikus. Medikus scowled as his clothes reformed, and his hood fell over his face.

"I don't think you understand..."

He disappeared. Emortus looked around frantically.

"Where did you go?!"

All of sudden Emortus was airborne. He looked up to see Medikus's fist slam into his face. Medikus landed over top of him and picked up Emortus by his shirt.

"... I can't lose to you, and I can't die!!!"

Emortus smiled, and dissolved into mist. Medikus turned around, and was greeted by a hard clothesline, sweeping him off his feet. Emortus picked Medikus up and swung his body around angrily, slamming him into the molten glass repeatedly. Medikus shot green lightning at him making, Emortus's let go and causing him to stumble back. Emortus stumbled right into a strike of lightning and turned into mist, disappearing. Medikus jumped to his right, narrowly avoiding the surprise attack. Emortus launched a blast of heat mist making Medikus cover up. Neither one of them could withstand the other one's full power much longer. An icy cold rain started to fall slowly, and both Medikus and Emortus knew that this battle would come down to one final move. They both walked forward disregarding their powers all together. They stood there going toe to toe, landing blow after blow, both men fighting their hearts out. In the end though all they could do is prolong the inevitable, and before they knew it, they barely had any energy left to keep going. Medikus felt himself losing consciousness and he wobbled as he stood up. They stood across from each other, plotting their final moves, and catching their breath. Medikus was all out of green lightning, and Emortus couldn't produce any more heat. But that didn't stop them at all.

"This was fun, but I'm afraid this fight is over Medikus!"

Emortus's mist pushed a huge wave of sand from behind him with a crushing speed. Let the wave engulf him, control his mist from the inside. Medikus ran full speed ahead, and jumped through the center of the sand.

"Whatever it takes, I will kill you!!!"

Natura sat down, knitting a scarf she'd been working on when she saw it. A flash that nearly blinded her, followed by a feeling of emptiness. Pyro began to cry again, but not Artic, who was still sound asleep. Natura ran to grab the child.

"It's okay little guy, it's okay."

But the words didn't sound convincing, because she felt what happened wind her very own power. Tears streamed down her face.

"Oh Medikus..."

The flash was blinding, illuminating all of the Desert Sand's. The cold rain stopped, leaving a bubbly, crystal clear glass floor. In the center of the circle was a tidal wave of glass standing several miles high. Towards the bottom, a spiky clear ball held the two warriors hostage, stuck in an eternal war. Medikus held the heart of Emortus, and Emortus the heart of Medikus. They'd punched right through each other's chest, and with their last bit of power, they immortalized the greatest battle the world had ever seen. Although it cost him his life, Medikus had finally realized his father's dream. He had finally freed the Desert Sands.
