"I've heard that you and Giovanni have a relationship."
I bit my lower lip as I bowed my head. So he already know.
"When I talked to you about working here in Whitehaven Palace, I made it clear the one and only rule to you. I introduced it to you. You confidently say that you'll comply with it, as easy as a pie as you say. You signed, with the presence of that one rule." He disappointedly looked at me. "I was having a high expectations on you, but here you are, violating the one and only rule I had gave you."
Yumuko ako. "My apology, Mr. Silvestre."
Napapabuntong-hininga si Mr. Silvestre. "I want you to break up with him."
Gulat akong napapatingin kay Mr. Silvestre. "B-But---" I was stopped when he put a cheque on my front.
"Name the amount. You can have it then and now. Just leave my son alone."
I laughed mockingly as I looked up for a bit. "Do you think I loved your son because of the money?"
Kita ko ang gulat sa mga mata niya.
I smirked bitterly. "Do you think I'm that shallow?" I held my head up high. "I love him for who he was. I love him as Giovanni, not as a Silvestre. The name?" I gritted. "I don't care about the name he has. As long as I am inlove with him, I'll love him."
He interestingly looked at me.
"May I know the reason why do you want me to break him up?"
He heaved a deep sigh as he leaned over the backrest. "I am not getting any younger. I wanted my son to be settled with a better background."
I smirk. "Do you think your son would be happy if he'll be settled down on the woman he doesn't even loved?"
He played his hand, watching my every move. "Then what do you think would make him happy?"
I held my head up high. "Let him decide on his life. Let him decide who he wanted to be with, on that way, he'll be happy."
Nanliit ang mga mata niya sa akin, ang kamay ay nasa baba na. "Who do you think it is?" He trailed off, looking at me. "You?"
Natitigilan ako sa sinabi ni Mr. Silvestre. Umiwas ako ng tingin. "I am not." I stood up. "No need to pay me. I'll cut ties with him."
I turned my back. Ilang hakbang palang ang nagagawa ko nang may maalala ako.
"Before I'll leave, let me ask you something, Mr. Silvestre."
He nodded. "Go on."
I bit my lower lip. I was fucking hesitant. "Before you offered me for a job here in Whitehaven Palace, did you know that I was a Quijano?"
He was at first taken a back by my question. He then faked a cough.
"Of course. I still need to background check before allowing someone to enter my territory."
I stiffened. I looked at him, teary-eyed. "So all along, you knew that I was a Quijano?" A trace of disappointment was all visible on my voice.
Fuck! I just feel like crying! I don't think I should hear his response.
"Yes."
Fuck it! That broke my heart!
I disappointedly looked at him. "All along, you know that I was an enemy." I nodded, tears starting to scroll down on my face.
Fuck! I wasn't this close to him but fuck! My heart! It was like a neddle's trying to prick my skin over and over again!
"I was hesitant to hire you at first. But because of your skills... the way you made my boys behaved like that, I was convinced to hire you. It was also to keep an eye on you. Who would know? What if you're a spy sent for us?"
