Stuck Chapter 16

He was shivering from the cold. His head was throbbing and his heart was pounding violently against his chest. The more steps he took, this terrorizing feeling spread in his limbs further. There was no reason to feel this way though. They had a great time with William. They fell asleep in a peaceful environment. Then just why the fuck was he feeling so shitty all of a sudden again?

Looking at the counter, he found his pills there. The real culprits. Why was he doing this to himself? Why would he start taking the exact pills that made his life a living hell every single time? Sure they helped a little, but only after torturing him for weeks with their side affects at first.

It was getting harder to breathe. His eyes kept on scanning the room, expecting to see the bastard in some corner. He wasn't here. At least not now.

Grabbing his wallet, he left the house. He needed to smoke and he didn't care if people weren't okay with that.

It was half past four, sitting behind the counter of their kitchen as he finished half of the pack. It wasn't doing its job. Theo actually became more fidgety and his body would jerk with the slightest sounds the furniture made. Getting up, he tore the cap off of his sedatives and downed three pills at once. With the cup of water in hand, he turned around to light another cigarette but he froze when he saw 'him' in the corner.

The man had a sick smirk on his lips. The wrinkles didn't take away how terrifying he looked at all. The thin lips opened, mouthing something:

You can't escape from me

It was what he used to say. You can't escape from me, Theodre! Where will you even go, Theodore? Do you think anyone will love a piece of shit like you, Theodore? You will stay a good boy if you want to live, Theodore.

Theodore

The name echoed in his head as though the hallucination had actually said it.

You should come to me when I call you, Theodore.

It was talking. T-the hallucination was talking! Was he- Did he somehow come back to life? O-or, was Theo dead too, going right where the man was for him to torture him all over again?

Fear paralyzed him entirely. He wanted to call for Joe but he couldn't make a single sound. With the first hit of the fire poker against the metal bars of the chimney, the cup fell from his hand to the floor.

You're a stupid boy who trusts everyone. See where it gets you every time? You thought this time was different? Look at you now.

The voice didn't stop and neither did the hits. Covering his ears with both palms, Theo kept on staring at the man. He was actually there and talking. The deafening sound of the fire poker kept on frightening him to his very core. When the man took the first step toward him, Theo lost his breath and his footing. He stumbled over something, crashing down against the glass coffee table, shattering it. He saw all the blood that started pouring out of his torn arm but he wasn't feeling the pain. Not that it mattered at all when the man was getting closer to him with each patient step. He was right there now, standing above him, raising the fire poker.

Hiding his head with both arms, Theo curled into himself. That was the only thing he could do. That was what he always did. Before he could get hit though, more lights were turned on and the stomping sound of someone running scared him enough for him to look in the direction it was coming from.

Joe!

It was Joe!

He could only trust Joe!

He was saved now!
