Stuck extra 1: The sleepover

"Are you sure it's okay for me to be here? Won't the parents be alert if another male stays in the house their kids are gonna sleep in?" Will asked, internally disliking the idea much more than the parent could.

Theo looked at him shortly while preparing the snacks for the kids. It was gonna be 8 of them. Too many if you asked Will. "They'll be informed that you're our assistant and knowing how busy we are, they won't question it. However, if you don't feel good about staying, it's absolutely okay to go to your place before they start coming." The man said, yawning right after.

Theo had been sleep deprived for the past few days. For some reason he was having a lot more nightmares, to the point he just preferred not to sleep at all. It was heartbreaking to wake up from the low whimpers and heartwarming to witness the way Joe managed to calm him down. At those times, Will didn't interfere. He knew he couldn't be a part of their bubble when Theo was so vulnerable and found safety hiding in Joe's arms.

Joe arrived with the food Elizabeth had prepared for everyone. Daisy had wanted to order but Theo had strictly rejected the idea. There was some crying on the girl's side but the fathers managed to calm her down.

"Babe, wanna take a quick nap?" Joe said, unpacking everything.

"No." Was the single word reply they got.

Daisy had downstairs all to herself because her fathers had made an entire playground for her there. It had a high ceiling so it made slides possible. One of them came down to a big ball pool and there was also a big TV on the wall for when she wanted to watch movies with all her dolls and squishies. Thus, they had decided to have the kids there. Or at least that had been the plan.
At 5 they started arriving one by one. Joe was the one that opened the door each time because Theo never really liked people so...
The man greeted the kids with sweet smiles when they walked in and he was even wearing light colors to look less 'intimidating' despite usually going with darker colors.
However, once all 9 of them came together, they were not controllable anymore. Running up and down the stairs, asking to go to the pool repeatedly, spreading snack crumbs everywhere and the worst of all: screaming.
Will's head, Joe's too, snapped toward Theo at the first scream. He looked taken aback but okay. But as it repeated, the man quietly disappeared somewhere.

"Where's Theo?" Will asked once he realized his absence.
Joe who had been busy tending to the kids and keep them from dying on the stairs, looked around quickly. He looked on-edge, like he was suppressing his anger and that was a rare sight since Joe was always so put together. "Check his office first. He must be under the desk."
"Under the desk?!" He thought he'd heard wrong.
"Yeah. It's-" Joe had to cut his sentence short when the pillow fight started to escalate between two boys. "For fuck's sake." The man mumbled as he approached them with a big frown, scolding them with his dad voice. Will wanted to witness more of this Joe that managed to intimidate the kids just enough to behave for the night but Theo needed him more.

Knocking on the door, he waited a few seconds and opened it slowly.
"Theo?" He called gently.
"Hm?" He heard the hum that he knew by heart. It was one the man used when he was responding on auto-pilot when completely dissociating.
Will walked around the desk and found the muscular body curled into itself in the small space under the desk. It hurt his heart.
Crouching down, he maintained his distance. "Is it bad?"
"I... don't know." The man responded.
"What are you feeling right now?" He sat on the floor, crossing his legs.
"I'm not losing it but my heart is in my mouth. And," Theo raised his hand in the air to show how it was shaking. "I can't make it stop." Clenching his fists over his knees, the man kept staring down at himself.
"I'm gonna bring your propranolol. Do you need anything else?" The pill would at least calm the rapid heartbeats.
Theo only shook his head, back to dissociating.
