Chapter 24

He's so beautiful.

It was Theo's first thought as he opened his eyes the next morning to the gorgeous boy sleeping soundly in his arms. William was squished against him, puffy cheeks pressed into his chest and arms folded between their bodies. He didn't remember falling asleep this close but he had no objections!

Black strands were covering his biceps as slow breaths hit his skin rhythmically. Joe had told him before that he looked pretty even asleep but with William, it was a whole other level. It would always remain a mystery to him how the boy didn't realize just how ethereal he was. Those blue eyes... damn it, those blue eyes looking at him through the lust-filled half-lidded gaze last night would never leave the front of his eyes now. The way the plump lips were wide open in endless moans, calling his name over and over once the boy tested it out so hesitantly the first few times and got comfortable with it... The way he clung to him, limbs wrapped around his, and how he fit right into his hands... Theo was whipped. He was falling for William, slowly but surely, and it was not good. For a heap of reasons.

Brushing against the soft cheek with the back of his hand gently, he smiled when he felt the stubbles. Had he ever noticed them before?! He couldn't remember it! William was always so hair-free that he thought he just couldn't grow any in the first place but seemed like their boy could grow a beard after all. He kind of wanted to see how he'd look with one.

Smiling to himself, Theo turned slowly to grab his phone from the nightstand.
'I can't get through to her. I don't know what's wrong. That bitch must've brainwashed her again.'
Joe's text said.
As soon as his text was marked 'read', Joe started to type.
'Good morning, my love.
Did you sleep well?
Can I come over? You two should eat breakfast and I told Elizabeth to make for 4.'

Joe knew he was scared of eating food he didn't know was safe. Last night, he did tell the staff to bring them food but his prayers were answered when William fell asleep before eating. But the boy had to eat since they were at it for quite some time.

'We need food for sure.'
He first typed.
'And I need a hug. So be here asap.'
He added.

Rolling on his back with his arm still a pillow to the younger's head, he stared at the ceiling. The awful feeling was coming alive again after William shut it out perfectly well last night. But now... it was coming to get him full force. So bad, his hands were starting to shake. Daisy hated him. She blamed him for her parents' split. The worst of all? Theo was the reason for the divorce after all. There was no denying that.

Deciding it was best not to wake the boy up to his current state, he carefully got out of bed and tucked William in. Taking a shower, he was just about done drying his hair when he heard the door open. Joe walked into the bathroom and as though he had been bottling it all up inside until then, Theo burst into tears, running into his husband's waiting arms.

"It's not your fault, baby. It's not your fault." Joe whispered in his ear repeatedly, kissing his temple.

"It is my fault, Joe. Had it not been for me you wouldn't get a divorce." He sobbed quietly, not wanting the boy in his bed to hear.

"Bullshit." Joe grabbed his shoulders and made him pull away, looking into his eyes with a deep frown. "That bitch is a psychopath. Have you forgotten how she deliberately cheated time and again, tried to buy pity and second, third and fourth chances with fake suicide attempts? She even used Daisy as bait, tried to take her from me in court just so she could suck more money out of us. Even if you didn't come back in my life, I'd still get a fucking divorce so don't ever have my ears hear such bullshit coming out of your mouth again."

The harsh tone actually settled the storm in his heart. Nodding slowly, Theo was embraced again ever so tightly in the arms that had always kept him safe. Joe patiently let him silently cry his broken heart out. When his tears seemed to be done, Theo washed his face while Joe went to set the table.
