Stuck chapter 36

He could hear Joe and Daisy talk when he entered their house. As soon as he closed the door, Daisy ran to him shouting an enthusiastic 'daddy' as though she hadnt seen him for a week! She was too adorable for his heart! Crouching down and hugging the little ray of sunshine, he got almost suffocated by the tiny arms that wrapped around his neck as tightly as they could.
"How was school today, baby?" He asked, carrying her in with one hand and his laptop in the other hand.
Daisy started telling him all about her day as he put the laptop on the counter and looked up to find Joe's eyes fixated on him. He smiled, taking in all of his man's gorgeous features as he mouthed an 'I love you' to him before turning his attention back to the little girl that was demanding his eyes on her with the little palms that were forcefully turning his head toward her instead.

"I'm talking to you, mister. Eye contact is important in conversation." Daisy said with a raised eyebrow, still holding his face in place.
"Yes, your highness. Please accept my apology." He kissed the top of her head as he sat on the couch with her still in his arms. "So Peter really rejected Lisa?" It was funny how the kids had so much love drama going on between them these days.
"Yeah! Peter said he doesn't want Lisa because she is always hanging out with Evan! He said she even gave her milkshake to her so he can't trust her!"
"Ouch!" Both Joe and him burst out laughing. Daisy was telling the story with so much passion as though it was the most important news in the world.
"Do you want to eat now or later?" Joe asked before Daisy could start with her next topic.
Theo shook his head. "I'm not hungry right now."
"You didn't each much lunch either." Joe stated.

"I'll eat later." He winked, knowing his husband would understand what he was saying.
"Oh!" Daisy suddenly clapped, remembering something. "Tiffany has a sleepover party tomorrow! Can I go? Pleaaaaaase?"
"No. You're not allowed to sleep in other people's house. We've already talked about this." Theo said in a tone that would let his daughter know it was not up for negotiation.
"But, daddy! Everyone goes to sleepovers! Why can't I go? I can never do the things my friends do together! I can't go camping. I can't go to sleep overs. I can't buy snacks from school and I can't eat the things my friends offer me! It's not fair!" Daisy was already crying as she said those with a trembling voice and hiccups.
It was true that they had too many rules compared to other families but after everything they've been through, both of them were more than a bit scared and paranoid when it came to all of their safeties, especially their little one.
Joe came up to them as he started stroking Daisy's hair.
"You really want to have a sleepover?" Theo asked, wiping the round tears off with his thumb.

Daisy nodded, playing with his collar.
"We will have a sleepover in our house then. You can invite all of your friends. How about it?"
"REALY?" Daisy's eyes went as wide as they could go because it was also a strict rule to never let anyone inside their house unless they knew them perfectly well.
He nodded, smiling.
"Are you sure about this?" Joe asked with worried eyes.
"We can't rob her off of her childhood experiences. We'll be cautious." He replied.

They decided to watch a movie to lift Daisy's mood. He left to take a shower while they chose what to watch and made sure to clean up for later. Coming back, he went to his designated spot which was between Joe's thighs on the couch. Once he leaned back against the firm chest, he pulled Daisy into his own lap. This was how they always watched movies together. Just all of them in each other's arms. He thought of William in that moment all of a sudden. How would they fit the boy in this situation? They needed a bigger couch or another arrangement because if they were to sit like this together then who would be in whose embrace? Maybe Joe and him could alter between hugging William and Daisy? ... Well, all of this would be for later on IF the boy chose to stay with the fucked up couple they were.
