A.N: broooooooooooo i can't believe i finally wrote SOMETHING again! Currently it's 3:30 am and I've been writing this shit for about 4 hours straight.
Sigh.
-----------------"What if the dads find out? I'm kinda scared, Will." Daisy kept chewing on her bottom lip. Her long, press-on nails were picking at each other in nervousness and it made Will purse his lips in return. She shouldn't have to be so stressed about such a random, normal thing.
"They won't." Putting a hand on hers, he made her stop the fiddling. The waitress came to put their chocolate milkshakes on the table. He waited with a smile before continuing as he retreated his hand and pushed the glass toward her instead. "They're snowed under by work right now 'cuz we're nearing the end of the year. They don't have the time to blink. Let alone check on either one of us." Taking a sip of his milkshake, he internally grimaced but didn't let it show. He truly didn't like eating these things because they were pointless calories especially now that he was on a good diet BUT he was the only one who could sneak Daisy out to a cafe or a restaurant every now and then and he would never let his own internal dilemma get in the way of his little sunshine enjoying her teenage years. His husbands had no idea. They'd probably tear him a new one if they ever found out.
Emptying half of her glass in one go, Daisy's expression turned more sour. "I know it's wrong to say this but sometimes I... really hate them." Her chin flinched when the tears wanted to come. Frowning hard, she aggressively inhaled the rest of her milkshake. "I don't actually mean it. I love them. I just wish they weren't so strict." Looking up at him with glossy eyes, she smiled at him. "I don't know how I would've survived mom and my dads if you weren't there, Will." "Hey now," Will ruffled her hair which was resulted in his hand getting slapped away and a glare thrown at him because apparently 16-year-old girls cared very much about every strand staying on their head perfectly in place. Chuckling, he pushed his glass toward her too, exchanging the straws for her afterward.
"They're just worried about you which sometimes gets in the way of your needs. Also, generation gap is a real thing. They're almost 50 and you're 16. That's a huge difference in mindset, Daisy. Especially for Theo. He was raised under strict noble etiquette rules. The fact that he watches anime with you instead of his usual documentaries shows that he's trying." At this, they both burst out laughing because really, nothing in the world was funnier than a huge man like Theo sitting in their basement — which was fully re-decorated into an actual otaku den — hugging a gojo cushion and trying to understand what was going on in the plot or why the characters changed forms so much.
"This makes no sense. He was a nobody a second ago and now he can kill the strongest enemies by the power of friendship? Well, at least they drew him pretty which is probably why it sells." -Theo
"He's real cute when he can't understand the plot one bit." Daisy snorted again, the bitterness from moments ago all gone. She had her dads' temper really. From zero to 100 and back in a blink of an eye. "At least now he's a gojo fan, right?" "He'd easily leave me and Joe for that guy if he was real. Did you know I actually caught him watching satosugu edits on insta the other day?! I was so shocked I was literally standing there for a whole minute with my mouth dropped to the floor!"
"No way!" Daisy shouted in disbelief before covering her mouth and laughing so hard there were tears at the corners of her eyes. Will let a moment pass and for the ease to settle in Daisy's mood. "Seriously though, don't worry about it. You're going on that date even if I have to make up a row of lies for them." Smiling beautifully at him, Daisy jumped up and said she was ready to go home and proceeded to demand a piggy back to the car.
Next week came around and Daisy said she wanted to try this new donut place. It was very busy so after getting them, they went back to the car. He had just taken a bite when his phone rang and he slid the slider without noticing it was a video call. Thankfully, the hand holding the donut was on his lap and not visible. "William, where did you leave the documents for the legal team?" Theo's deep, tired voice echoed in the car. More than a decade into their relationship and he still loved their voices so fucking much. "Which one exactly?" He asked, continuing to chew silently.
