Xenoblade Chronicles is one of my favorite games, with 3 being the center of my attention right now. It's been a year since it's release but I still go back to it from time to time...but lately I haven't been able to due to problems, both personal and private. I'm 21, the game came out when I was 20 but I loved it but right now, things aren't looking to good for my family life. I walk out of my room, going down the stairs as I see my father sitting on the couch, coughing a lot and looking like he's in pain each time.

(Y/N): Feeling better?
Dad: A little bit, thanks for asking
(Y/N): No problem, let me know if you need help

I walk into the kitchen as I see on the kitchen table a bunch of overdue bills. My father is the one who pays the bills but right now, he's not able to even work to pay the bills. I look away as I try to find something to occupy my mind until I hear my dad call out to me

Dad: How's college going?
(Y/N): It's going good
Dad: Last time you said it was going good so why haven't you graduated yet?
(Y/N): Dad, not right now. It's not a good time for this
Dad: Because I'm sick? This is your future and life but your doing nothing with it. Your just letting it waste away but just playing games up there.
(Y/N): It helps me calm down and besides, I help out around the house when you aren't here. I try to make things better dad, even more so since your...
Dad: Don't use my illness as an excuse, Y/N. Your my son and I love you but there's no money being made, your part time job is barely minimum wage and you don't even save money, you just spend it. Who knows how long we can even stay here?
(Y/N):...

I stay silent as I know he's right but what can I do right now? I'm not really doing anything with my life right now but I still try...with barely any effort.

Dad: It's time for you to start moving up but you can't do that if your constantly wasting time playing games.
(Y/N): Jesus, do you like just repeating the same thing over and over? I'm trying my best dad, but apparently it isn't enough!

I yell out loud, losing control over myself which is a rare thing for me. My dad eyes widen and as he was about to yell back, he coughs violently and as I was just about to go help him, our doorbell goes off and he just tells me through the coughs to just go get the door
Y/N:(Whisper to myself) Asshole...

I open the door, only to see a letter with an unusual seal on it. I pick it up and enter my house, opening the letter with my dad looking over my shoulder to see it.

Dear Mr. Y/N, after careful consideration, we have decided to invite you to a project that the government has created that involves a game called Xenoblade Chronicles 3 as an experiment for a better future. We understand how insane it sounds, making a project just for a video game and how no one has even heard of it, much less you but just know this is the truth and we ask you see it as such. We ask for your cooperation as we believe that as an avid fan of the series, you will be able to provide much insight and help to the project and will be rewarded handsomely for it. If you choose not to accept, we understand but ask you do not lean the content of this letter as, no matter how crazy it sounds, it is still considered too secret by the government and you will be punished severely for doing so. Destroy the letter should you decline but if you accept, call this number and we will send someone to get you as soon as we can.

Y/N: Terumi Klaus? Government project that has involves Xenoblade Chronicles 3? (Looks closer to the letter) Rewarded handsomely if I agree? Dad, I know this is way too sketchy but if it's true, we can pay the bills!
Dad: Your right, it is too sketchy, that's why your not doing it.
Y/N: Why not?! It sounds way too good to be true, I know, but there's a chance it's legit and
Dad: Doesn't matter! The moment it said something about a game you like, you perk up and decide to just do it?! Your 21, for christs sake! Start acting like it!
Y/N: That has nothing to do with it! This is a chance for us! Our bills, your medical bills, it could last us for a while until we get back on our feet! Dad, just trust me on this, this could help!
Dad: Enough! Listen to me for once and understand that this is far too sketchy for it to be true! We'll find a way but not with this! You are not doing this and that's final!
Y/N: Sorry but it ain't final. I'm taking this whether you like it or not. We need this chance and I'm not going to waste it.
Dad: Your a fool. Go on then, accept the offer but even if it turns out to be true...I won't accept it. You are far too stubborn and ignorant of the real world to even consider the risks of this. So go on and have fun with your GAME.

After hearing how much venom was used for that sentence, I stormed off and went to my room and called the number. After a while of waiting, someone responded
Government official on the phone: Well? What's your answer?
Y/N: I'm in, no questions asked.

And that was the start of my unbelievable journey...and the start of my unfortunate pain towards the end...
