Xenoblade Chronicles 3: Beyond Fate

The Way Forward

After almost going to sleep, the Agnus group of Mio, Sena, Taion and Manana arrive back at the crash site and death place of Vandham. Once they notice me and the Keves group, they get surprised to see us here.

Noah:" Huh?"
Sena:" What?!"
Lanz:" You lot..."

Nobody said anything else but the tension was there, feeling like someone might make a move. Before anything happened, I decide to say something.

Sora:" Can we not have a fight or argument right now?" I say, getting everyone's attention. " I'm tired right now and it's late, I want to sleep."

Everyone just stared at me for a while, until Lanz just let out a chuckle.

Lanz:" Wow, man, way to make things calm down." He says with a small smile. "Just sleep there then, we could all use some sleep, don't we?" He says, looking at the Agnus group with a bit of glare.
Taion:" That's right, so go ahead and sleep then, friend." He says looking back at Lanz with a bit of a glare.
Noah/Mio:" Lanz/Taion!" They both yell at their respective members, scolding them.

I let out a small laugh as I lay back down on the container next to Noah. I close my eyes, wanting to go to sleep before anything else happens.

Sora:" Like I said before, wake me up if anything happens." I say before falling asleep, instantly.
Sena:" Whoa, he fell asleep that fast?" She asks, rather impressed.
Eunie:" He must've been that tired then. I mean he looks like he went through something." She says, examining my body as I sleep.
Mio:" True...he doesn't look like he can fight. He still survived a day by himself here." She says, looking at me as I sleep.
Noah:" You all can sit down. You as well as us need to rest after a day like this." He says, gesturing to the area around him.

Mio, Sena, and Taion sit down on nearby containers that was facing the Keves group while Manana just stood next to them.

Mio:" Don't you want to sit down Manana?" She asks.
Manana:" Manana fine!" She says rather cheerfully. She then looks at Sora. "He sleep peacefully, friend must be hungry."
Sena:" I don't think he's hungry right now, Manana. Just let him sleep." She says to Manana.

After that, no one else says anything as the two groups just look at each other and then fall asleep. Its now morning and everyone woke up, except for Sora, who is still out like a light. Everyone else, however, aren't saying anything until Taion speaks up.

Taion:" As much as I like a friendly reunion... What exactly are we doing here?" He asks everyone.
Lanz:" Yeah. Beats me. I'm starting to get antsy here." He says to Taion with a bit of an attitude.
Eunie:" Mm, what he said." She says, agreeing with Lanz.
Taion:" And how do you suppose we feel?" He says back in an annoyed tone.
Sena:" Taion, don't be like this... Reel it in a little." She says, scolding him a bit.

Everyone remains a bit quiet after that as Noah and Mio appear to be thinking. I'm still sleeping on the container with Noah sitting by me as Noah starts to recall what Vandham said to them.

Vandham(Flashback):" You guys... You wanna survive? Live on? Hold the torch?"
Noah:" Good question..." He says to himself, which catches everyone's attention. "Guys... Let's live."
Eunie:" What kind of pep-talk is that? 'Course we're gonna survive!" She says, confused on what he meant.
Noah:" Well then. We know where to go. The City."
Lanz:" The Cit-?! What are you even..."
Noah:" In the eyes of the world at large... we're outlaws now. We can't... go back to the colony." He says to Lanz, remembering how his fellow colony members attacked them.
Taion:" The soldiers... Their Irises glowed blood red. Just like his did." He says, recalling his and his groups encounter with their colony members and Moebius.
Mio:" Right, I remember."
Taion:" This is just conjecture, but what if... those soldiers are perceiving us as enemies?" He says, telling the group about his theory.
