Chapter 27

Chapter 27: Past

As I pace through these days, I keep on losing my own track. I feel so lost, I was like pacing through a labyrinth alone. I wanted to ask help from someone but I can't, I can't even bring myself back to sanity.

I've been stuck in a misery, chained in this intense life chemistry and trapped in a life full of envy. I hate it when I saw someone enjoying a feast while I was here, struggling. And so to put an end through this paralyzing haze, I finally decided to do what Maggy said.

And now, I was standing while staring at this view before me. I was in the resort, the place who provides me a new life back then, the place where I got to build these high walls I have now and the place where I got share my past with him.

It changed a lot, halos matagal tagal na din kasi noong huli akong nakapunta dito. Mas lalong naging maganda ito kung tingnan, mas malinis at mas maraming mga turista kaysa noon.

As I entered the room I booked, I emmediately changed my clothes so I could at least wander around the place. I wanted to visit the places we've been before, I wanted to see how it all change.

Nasa ground floor ako ng hotel nang may makasalubong akong pamilyar na lalaki, nakita ko naman itong nilapitan ako.

"Miss Jean?" he asked.

I nodded, "ikaw ba si—"

"James," he cut me off.

Tumango ulit ako, "you changed a lot."

Tumawa siya, "syempre, manager na to ngayon eh."

My eyes widen, "that was quite surprising but congrats."

Tumawa siya, "salamat. By the way, kailan ka pa nakarating dito?"

"Actually, kakarating ko lang."

Tumango siya, "enjoy your vacation miss Morales."

"Salamat James," I smiled.

"Here," he handed me a card.

"What's this?" I accepted it.

"Call me when you need something."

He then left, hindi man lang nito hinintay ang pasasalamat ko. I checked the card, nakasulat doon ang telephone number niya. Tinago ko nalang ito sa aking bulsa bago patuloy na naglakad papunta sa may dalampasigan.

Walking with my shades on, I could feel the stares from the people around. Honestly, I never imagine myself being a head-turner, this was quite embarrassing!

I first visit the clinic with the hope that I can still see the one who truly save my life, nurse Katherine. Unfortunately, she's not there. Ang sabi ng isang nurse ay dalawang taon na daw itong hindi na nagtatrabaho sa resort. I feel bad for her, ni hindi man lang ako nakapagpasalamat sa kanya noon.

Nakaramdam ako ng gutom kaya agad na nagtungo ako sa restaurant ng resort para kumain. The restaurant changed too, the table arrangements, the designs and even the counter were replaced. Even the employees we're unfamiliar now, kaunti nalang ang mga employees na namumukhaan ko pa.

While eating, the music played at the background made me so damn confused. The first song played was lil Eddie's statue, I let it passed without malice but when the next song played, I can't help but to think about it. The second song was lips of an angel until if you're not the one by Daniel  Bedingfield played.

Hindi ko na natiis at agad na tinawag ko ang waiter at nagbayad sa aking kinain at umalis na. Nakakunot ang noo kong lumabas sa restaurant.

I don't know if it's coincidence or what but it create a big hit into me. Those song reminds me of Wayne, everytime I hear those songs, I could easily remember him.
