We continue to run through the night. The only source of light we have is the moonlight. But thankfully, we've both gotten used to the lack of illumination due to the training we receive from Urokodaki-San. But this is only the first night. We still have 6 more to go. God, please protect us and help us pass this Final Selection. All I want is to cure my twin sister. Please, God... guide us.

-Survival Test-

Y/N P.O.V

We continue running through the night. But a loud scream makes us stop and hide behind a tree. I turn my head to look at my brother. He lift his hand, placing it on top of my head and caress my hair softly as an attempt to calm me down. I take a deep breath. I peek around the tree to look at what's going on.

"Help!!! They never mention anything about this!" A boy yelled out, as he run. I turn my head to look at where he's looking. I gasp and covers my mouth at the sight of the demon. The boy tripped, causing him to get caught by the demon.

"We have to help him! You stay here" Onii-Chan said as he desperately try to stop himself from trembling in fear. He shakes his head and runs forward, using waterwheel technique to severe the demon's hand.

The boy landed on the ground, safely

The boy landed on the ground, safely. The demon attacks Onii-Chan, making him slam his body against the tree. He doesn't seem to move which lets me know that he have lost his consciousness.

"Onii-Chan!" I yelled out. I ignore the growing fear in my heart as I run towards my brother. I kneel down next to him and hugs him close. I turn to look at the demon as he lets out a laugh. From the corner of my eyes, I can see the boy Onii-Chan have saved decided to run away. I click my tongue in annoyance. What a coward and ungrateful individual he is.

I shake my head. I shouldn't focus on that boy. I have to do something with the demon. I hear a groan. I turn my head to see Onii-Chan have awaken.

The demon lunges at us with his hand. Onii-Chan and I quickly move out of the way. I reach inside my bag while still in the air and take out one of the UV flash-bomb. I pull the string out. I throw it at the demon, letting it fly right above him. I cover my eyes with my arm to protect them as a burst of light illuminate the night. I swiftly land on the ground, still covering my eyes.

I hear the demon screams. I decided to count how long the light would last, to find out it only lasted for at least 10 seconds. I remove my arm from my eyes and focus on the hand demon. His whole body is covered in blisters.

"I can't believe it... it actually worked!! Onii-Chan it works!!" I said, grinning happily as I turn to look at Onii-Chan who looks impressed and shocked at how effective my invention is. I turn to look at the demon to see him getting furious. "Uh oh..." I said. I jump out of the way as the demon's hand starts to come towards me.

"You brat! What did you do to me?!!!" He yelled out. I keep dodging the demon's attack. I can't keep using the UV flash-bomb. I only have a limited amount. I've used up 1, so I only have 9 left. I can't keep on wasting them.

I lost my footing, allowing the demon to hit me. I got send flying back as a result. I let out a pained cry as I slam my back against a tree. I feel my arm getting cut. I turn to look at the wound to see it already started to heal.

"Y/N! Are you okay??" Onii-Chan said, rushing towards me. He kneels down and inspect my arm. "You've healed again..." he said, in shock. I just nod my head. I remove my hand from his grip.

"Don't focus on me, Onii-Chan. We have to focus on that demon" I said. The demon just keeps on screaming. The wounds on his body starting to heal, but it seems slower than normal. I guess my device is more effective than I thought it would be.

"I'm going to kill you!!! You and that cursed Urokodaki!" He said. I furrowed my eyebrows at what he said. It turns out, it was Urokodaki-San that trapped him in this place. But that's not what shocked me. It's the fact that two of the children he described fits perfectly to Sabito and Makomo. At this point, I realize that those two weren't human. They were spirits.

Onii-Chan let out a scream as he sounded frustrated. "Do not get angry, Onii-Chan! Your breathing is uneven!!" I yelled out. He stops for a moment as he try to calm down.

In the end, Onii-Chan managed to cut the demon's head. I watch as it rolls on the ground. I breathe slowly, trying to calm my nerve. I watch as the demon's remaining body.

I watch as his hand is reaching out. My eyes saddened at the sight. I turn my head to see Onii-Chan walking up to the demon's hand and gently grasp it. I walk to stand next to him. I place my hands together in prayer.

"God, please... if this person ever gets reincarnated, let him be an ordinary human and please make sure to not let the same happen to him..." I said, while closing my eyes for a few seconds. I open them and turn to look at the demon's head. "Rest in peace..." I said, smiling sadly at the demon. I notice there are tears streaming down as he slowly turns to ash.

I turn my head to look at Onii-Chan. He smiles at me and gently pat my head. "You're amazing, sis... being able to create something like that. It'll surely comes in handy" he said, making me grin happily at him.

A Few Days Later

Days have passed since we begin the Final Selection. Me and Onii-Chan tried to talk to the demons and asked them how to turn a demon back into human. But the only thing those demons cared about is to eat us. So in the end, we failed to gather some information.

As the sun begins to rise, we realize that we've reached our destination. "Onii-Chan... we've made it" I said. I wrap my arms around his neck out of happiness. He let out a laugh as he hugs me back.

By the time we reach the place. We realize there's only 5 of us who passed the Final Selection. There were lots of us on the first day. But now, it's just us.

The twins explain that we need to choose an ore in order for us to get our Nichirin sword. It would take 15 days for our swords to complete. A boy with purple outfit and a messy mohawk hair becomes impatient. He grab one of the girls by the hair. But Onii-Chan protects her.

We stand in straight lines as they reveal the selections of ore that we can choose from. I close my eyes and try to feel. I outstretch my hand, letting my sense decided which one is best. I open my eyes and gasp as I stare at the ore I've chosen.

It's a Scheelite, in other words

It's a Scheelite, in other words... a gem stone.

This is one of the strongest mineral to ever exist. When expose to extreme heat, it will create the strongest metal in the world. The hotter the heat, the stronger the metal. I grin as I feel satisfied with my choice. I know I'm gonna have the perfect sword.

"You seem satisfied with your choice, Y/N..." Onii-Chan said. I turn to look at him and grin. He just smiles at me. He turn his head to look at the ore and chooses one. He's probably trusting his sense of smell. "I'll choose this one" he said, making me smile at him.

I can't wait to receive our swords, then we can start our journey and hunt the monster that killed our family. I swear that I will bring that demon down one day.
