The ride was abnormal, strange, weird, and any other odd synonym you could think of. You felt like you were always in the air, never once did you feel Uncle Kyo step on the ground.
Which made you a little concerned. You couldn't see but you knew you were still on the train, the smell made it obvious, but how was Uncle Kyo flying? During the ride, you could hear some unsettling sounds. Sounds that were similar to the squelching of the tentacles that you heard prior.
Normally, you would've panicked at the sound of things (considering that they attacked you) but since your uncle was with you, you weren't bothered.
Another thing you weren't worried about was his sword. You knew that since you were on his back, there was no way he could hurt you. It was physically impossible for him to stab you from where you were unless he stabbed himself through his chest, but you highly doubted he would do that.
Even though he was fighting, he still made an effort to engage in conversation. He would start with small questions which all began with "Do you remember?"
For example: Do you remember your favorite colour? Do you remember the lake where you learned to swim? Do you remember how much you loved eating snow?
Majority of his questions, you would answer with no. Then he would tell a lengthy story to refresh your memory. In the midst of him retelling the story, you would wonder how he would remember so many things about you.
It was a little creepy the more you thought about it.
You knew the two of you had no blood relation yet it seemed like he was always there, watching you more intently than your mother ever did.
Speaking of her, where was she now? It was hard to forget her features. Her (e/c) eyes that always seemed hollow, her (s/c) skin that used to look radiant, and her hair that was always hanging by her shoulders.
It disheartened you that you could recall all her features by heart, it wasn't easy to forget the face of the woman who almost killed you.
"And that's how you almost got stuck in Shinobu's medicine cabinet!" Uncle Kyo's voice boomed over the sound of battle, "If it wasn't for Uzui noting your absence, you probably would've stayed in there!"
He was about to laugh at his joke but a piercing scream rang throughout the train car, startling you greatly and causing your ears to ring. Uncle Kyo awkwardly stretched a hand around and patted you on the back, "Calm down, [Name]! I'm sure it's nothing--"
He was interrupted by the train's violent shaking in all directions, making him almost lose his balance as he lurched forward. There was only one thought present in your head; you need to get off this train.
