It was hard to determine what you felt in that moment.
You wanted to run but your feet were rooted to the ground
You wanted to shout but your voice felt clogged.
You wanted to hurt her until she was bruised but you couldn't find the courage to summon anything.
You had so many options but you were too scared to think any of them through.
She broke the silence before you could. "Why are you still alive?" she seethed, her (e/c) eyes narrowing with distain as she gripped the pale blue haori closer to her trapped body.
Even with one eye, you could tell she was fuming with unspeakable rage.
Your voice was shaky as you tried to answer. "M...Mom..."
"Don't call me that!" She screamed. "Answer me, demon! Why are you still alive?!"
Her loud voice made you shrink away. Tears threatened to prick your remaining eye as you pondered her question.
Your mother's eyebrows furrowed deeper. "That boy with the Hanafuda earrings let you live, didn't he?!" She continued to yell. "Even though you murdered my husband, your own father, out of cold blood?!"
Your eye widened, what was she talking about?
You didn't murder your dad! It was just some random guy!
"I knew I should've tossed you off that cliff instead!" She hissed. "But I clearly I was too soft on you. Even in that moment, you looked just like your father. Have you no shame in what you've done?"
You slowly started to shake your head as she spoke. No, she was lying! She had to be lying!
"It should've been you that died! Not him!" She yelled in a murderous manner as she tried to pry herself out of the rubble. "Once I get my hands on you, I'm going to make sure you stay dead!"
The way she looked at you reminded you of the same murderous glint that you saw in Uncle Nemi's eyes when he stabbed you. The same look that the demon that killed Uncle Kyo gave you when addressing you.
