2ɴᴅ ᴘᴏᴠ (๑˘ꇴ˘๑)

Urokodaki explained that demons were things that had been terrorizing humans for a long time, they were terrifying creatures with razor-sharp fangs and talon-like nails. If a demon was strong enough, it would be able to do a special power called "Blood Art". The stronger the demon, the stronger its power.

He also mentioned that demons can't stand sunlight, which was a shame since you loved going out into the sun.

He then explained what a Demon Slayer was, they were people who were trained to hunt down demons, which was what the hanafuda boy — Tanjiro — was trying to become. The highest rank of a Demon Slayer was called a Hashira and they had the strength to kill any demon almost instantly became of how strong they were.

He mentioned that he used to be a Hashira, he still has the skills of one but he promised that he wouldn't kill or hurt you anytime soon.

But if you ever encounter a Hashira, the best advice he could give you was to run away as fast as possible or find Tanjiro before it's too late.

He said that the girl in the futon was Tanjiro's sister, Nezuko, who was also a demon. She was also instructed to never eat a human, which made you feel a little safer.

After his lengthy explanation, you stared into his eyes, purity shining in your pupils, "...Does that make me a monster?"

Your voice was unusually croaky, when was the last time you spoke? Why did it feel like you haven't spoken in a long time?

Urokodaki didn't mind your groggy voice, he only hummed as he patted the top of your head, "Everyone else may see you as one, but to me, you are a child. A child whose fate should not have been tainted, I deeply apologize for what happened to you."

The corners of your lips began to twitch upwards and for the first time that night, you smiled.

Urokodaki felt his heart melt at the sight of your smile, you were too pure for this world. He felt a strong urge to protect you and give you the life you needed. Even though you were a demon, he would still try to give you the life of a normal child.

He gently smiled and ruffled your hair before standing up. He left the small room and came back with a pack of roller bandages in his hands. He sat down in front of you again, "I'm going to wrap these around you, okay?" He explained while unrolling the bandages, "I'll mostly wrap them around your head, neck, upper body, and arms. Tell me if it hurts anywhere."

You nodded while he undid your nagagi. Once your nagagi and haori were off, he started bandaging your chest area, then your arms, then your neck before finishing with your head.

One question rang through your mind the whole time he was bandaging you. Why? Was something wrong with you? What was the reason?

Once he was finished, he glossed over your confused expression and put your clothes back on. He brushed off imaginary dirt and smiled under his mask, "Try not to talk so much, the bandages on your mouth might slip."

Now you were even more confused, what was so bad about your mouth that it had to be covered?

He ruffled your hair once more, (h/t) hair getting tangled in his fingers, "You seem tired, you can go back to bed or wait for Tanjiro, though he'll be back much later."

You perked up upon hearing the boy's name and Urokodaki chuckled at your eagerness. You jumped up with enthusiasm and nodded ecstatically at the mention of meeting Tanjiro officially. He crossed his arms in a fatherly way and watched as you jumped around the room, muffled sounds of excitement coming out of your bandaged mouth.
