The last thing Genya wanted was rain. He would've preferred a nice sunny sky to make his leave as quickly as possible. Instead, he was treated to a booming thunderstorm that rattled his bones every time lightning struck.

He didn't believe the baby demon when they said it was going to rain, he thought it was some sick trick to keep him in the cabin so they could feast on his flesh. Even if that was the case, he wouldn't let that happen. That demon paled in comparison to other demons he's faced.

Genya would never admit it, but he was impressed by the fact the small demon managed to freeze something so huge. It made him wonder how many times they've done that to capture innocent people.

Another crash of thunder boomed through his ears and he buried himself deeper in the futon he found next to the stack of bloody books. It was the only thing that could keep him somewhat warm since the window to the cabin was shattered by his fight.

He did manage to patch himself up a bit (though it was very messy) with the bandage rolls that were thrown onto him. Seriously, what was that demon kid's problem? Throwing bandages on an injured person? Really?

And what was the deal with that kid anyway? Why are they alone in a shack with no protection? Did another demon come by earlier that week and turn them into a hideous monster? That might've been the case but it doesn't explain how they grasped their demon abilities so quickly.

All the boy wanted was to rest up at a Wisteria House and then make his way to the Swordsmith Village, not sleep in some dusty old shack with a small demon that could pounce at any second.

Just when Genya thought his night couldn't get anyway worse, he felt a strong shiver down his spine which caused his body to tremble. "Just my luck." He thought as he wrapped himself deeper into the futon blanket. "A cold front is definitely what I needed."

Yet as he felt another cold chill roll over him, his instincts told him this wasn't due to the raging storm outside.

But rather, an internal issue.

His purple eyes shifted to the fusuma door that stood less than a foot beside him, if he shimmed closer then he'd be shoulder to shoulder with it. The little demon that saved his life was behind that door, seemingly hiding from the rest of the world.

Another brisk wind brushed past him and he felt the temperature drop to a colder climate. He didn't get a good look at the child's face but he remembered seeing several snowflake patterns scattered across their skin. "Is this demon's power related to something like snow?" He pondered.

If his answer was correct then he was in a lot of trouble. If this demon's assault continued any longer, then he would freeze to death just like the nasty ogre of a demon outside.
